Chapter 15: Secrets Hurt

Ember's POV

I am finally allowed to be around people other than Hayes and dad! Yay! So over the time of me being "locked up" like I'm so crazy lunatic, turns out Scott's girlfriend had a twin sister and Laura is alive and well. Which makes us all happy. My father has been giving kids and anyone else archery lessons and teaching them hunting skills. Guess it's just my dad going full Daryl Dixon. Over the time of me getting to know people I've met a guy named Cameron Jerome. He's really cool and nice... But Hayes does not like him. He's afraid this guy will be the one I want. Um no. I had just woken up and showered. I grabbed my fake arm and out it on. I put on my blue ripped jeans, my black boots, with my red flannel and my bandana. Since we have power I straightened my red hair with my white streak. Then I put my katona on my back and walked outside. A chorus of "Hey Em!" Or "Good mornin gorgeous!" Was heard. I smiled and waved. I walked up to Cameron's house since Hayes was on a run for more supplies. "Cam! Open up!" I giggled and smiled as he opened the door. "Ember Rae, what brings you here?" He spoke with a smirk that could make any girl fall instantly. "Oh ya know. Hayes being busy needed some fun. You down? Or ya scared?" He smiled and motioned for me to come inside. He ran upstairs while shouting. "Sit tight doll! I'll be down in a few. Then we'll have some fun!" He always called me doll. He knew I hated it, but I guess I got used to hearing it. I love Hayes a lot, but Cameron is more like me. He's more.... free. I sat down while smirking to myself. I wonder what we'll do today? I giggled. I heard footsteps and a voice. "Doll, you ready to go have some fun?" I smirked. "Oh come on Cam. You know I hate that nickname. Why not something like hmm I don't know. Red?" He smirked and shook his head. "No can do, doll. Come on. What's on the agenda today?" "I thought maybe go outside the walls. Kill some walkers. Anything really." He smirked and grabbed my hand dragging me to his Jeep. We jumped in. The next thing I knew we were at some waterfall. It was beautiful. "Cam. What is this place?" "I used to come up here all summer with my dad before ya know the world ended. So now that I'm here with you... I thought I'd show you." I smiled and blushed. Wow I'm blushing. Wow. "Why thank you Mr. Cameron. What an honor." I bowed my head a little laughing in the process. When I looked up his face was inches from mine. My eyes shifted from his eyes to his lips than back to his eyes. Oh them eyes. He leaned in and I found myself leaning in as well. Our lips brushed and I found myself leaning in more. I kissed him back and then one thing came to my mind. Hayes. I pulled back and looked up at Cameron. "Cam.. what did I just do?" "No. No. No. It's all me. Ember don't worry. I'm sorry. I just needed to kiss you once. Doll, I'm sorry." I hugged him and spoke softly. "Cam... I kissed back it's as much as my fault as yours. Hayes can't find out though. I'll tell him when I want to." "Ok doll... so friends still?" "Best friends." God kill me for real this time. Secrets are the one thing that can get me killed.
