Part 10

"Am I... having a crush on Uta?"

No, it wasn't like this was the first time that you felt this way around him, your heart was raising every time he was to close to you but just now you realized why this was, you had developed feelings for him without knowing even though he is a ghoul.

"I'm going to the bathroom" you excused yourself and stood up from the chair, Hide and Kaneki looked at you a little confused as you walked off

"Was it a bad idea to ask her about boys?" Hide asked

"Yeah... try to keep it quiet around her, she is not someone who likes to talk about those things" Hide nodded slowly but he was curious what happened to you in the past that you never had a boyfriend before.

"Why won't it stop beating?" you talked to yourself as you looked in the mirror holding your shirt tightly

"This can't be right, he is... miles away from me, I can never exist in his world because I am human" it made you really sad to speak out the truth how it is, he told you before that ghouls are attracted to you because of you scent and he was not any different, there was not a chance that he felt the same way about you, he was always distant to you because he said he didn't want to hurt you that's all there was to it.

You let the water stream down and washed your face to cool down a little, you could still stop this if you tried hard enough and this was what you decided to do, he was never going to know about your feelings.

"Hey we are heading out do you want to hang out with us a little more?" Hide asked as he packed his backpack

"Uhh.. yeah sure just give me a second" you walked over to Uta to ask for permission to stay out a little longer, Hide watched you walking over to the group and talking to Uta, he could tell just by watching that your body was tense and you seemed more nervous than usual.

"Alright, let's go" you said walking back to the table and packing your things together, before you left Uta walked towards you and handed you something

"Here, take this, it's getting cold outside" he handed you a (fav color) scarfthat he bought on his shopping tour with Renji and Itori

"T-Thank you" you smiled softly and placed it around your neck

"Text me ok" he fixed the scarf for you and tied it together in the front which let your heartbeat increase by his touch

"I promise" he nodded with a small smile and brushed your hair out of your face

"See you later" you left with Hide and Kaneki.

You stopped at a bakery and Hide brought some sweets, Kaneki grimaced and ate more slowly than you 2 you noticed and helped him by eating his share, he was thankful for your help since he would spend all night in the restroom if he over ate himself

"So what do we do? Wanna hang out at my place?" Hide asked with a large smile

"Sure, did you buy that new game yet?" Kaneki asked curious

"I did! and it's awesome!" Kaneki smiled

"Really? that's amazing!"

"(first name) do you join us?" Hide asked and you nodded shyly

"Sure, sounds fun".

Time passed fast and it was already nightfall, you packed your things and headed out home after saying goodbye to Kaneki and Hide, Uta was probably waiting with dinner so you hurried home.

Before you went to bed you unpacked your backpack and searched for the paper where you were supposed to write down your wish for Uta but you could not find it, you emptied your bag and looked in between the pages but it was gone, you thought that you forgot it at Anteiku since you used the textbook there for the last time, you had to go there in the morning and check.

Your mood was down as you walked towards school after you visited Anteiku, the paper wasn't there which saddened you, normally you would use a new paper since it was only a piece of paper but... this paper was special since it was one of Uta's art book papers, you wanted to write down your wish on that paper and no other.

You walked in the front door and headed for your classroom when you heard someone calling your name, you turned around to see that it was Hide

"Hide? What are you doing here?" you asked confused to see him at your school

"Good morning (first name), I'm glad I caught you before you went to class, you forgot this at my place yesterday and I thought you wanted it back" he handed you the missing paper that you were looking for the whole time

"Thank god! I was looking for it the whole evening, I thought I left it at Anteiku yesterday, thank you so much for bringing it!" Hide noticed how happy this paper made you and it was crystal clear to him now

"I knew it was special to you, just like he is" you looked at his face a little shocked as you placed the paper in your textbook

"W-What?" Hide smiled shyly

"You have feelings for him don't you? This guy you live with, Uta am I right?" your heart was pounding like crazy in your chest as he spoke it out loud, you started walking past him to avoid anymore questions but he stopped you by holding on to your wrist

"Don't run away.." he begged you

"Please... don't tell anyone about this" you asked of him in a sad voice, he nodded slowly

"I promise I won't.. if you tell me something in return" you turned around to him and looked in his brown orbs confused

"W-What do you want to know?" he hesitated with the answer for  a moment as he just stared in your eyes

"I want to know who you really are" your blood froze at his question

"W-What do you mean? Who I really am" he seemed to know something about you and it scared you to know what it was

"I know that your parents were murdered by ghouls when you were a kid, you went missing for the last 7 years until you appeared again, what happened to you during that time? Why did you keep your last name a secret?" panic spread through your body and you had no idea what to say

"I..I.."

"Were you hold captive by ghouls?" your breathing became heavier and you recalled the memories from that time, how did he know all that? Did someone tell him about your past?

"H-How do you know??"

"I work part time at the CCG and your picture showed up on one of the files... that's when I took it" your eyes widened and you hold on to his jacked with pleading eyes

"Do you still have that file??" he nodded

"Please show it to me!"
