The gallery was great; so many great pictures and a lot of people.
"Damn, are really so many people seeing my paintings?" I whispered to Tory. She nodded.
"Lassie! Jake! Joey!" Tre and the others ran over to us.
"Guys, be quiet!" I said, as Tre hugged me tightly.
"C'mon, go see your paintings! They're hanging there," Abbie led us over to where Billie, Adie and Mike were.
"Liz, finally!" Adie said, as she saw me. "You look great!" she inspected my black skull dress.
"Thanks, you too," I turned round to look at all the people who were looking at my painings.
"They seem impressed, kiddo," Mike leaned down to me.
"You think so?"
"Yeah. Look at these ones," he pointed to a couple as old as him.
"Fuck, turn around, fast," I said.
"What's up?"
"These people are Emily's parents. Y'know, the girl whose nose I broke a few days ago. That's the biggest rich, phoney, homophobic bastards on earth I know," I whispered. Adie and Billie went to look at some other paintings and Abbey and the others tried to get us something to drink. "Emily's never far away from them," I explained when I herad Emilys parents talk with her in front of one of my painting.
"Emily, dear, look at these great paintings. What do you think, Richard, should we buy one of those?" her Mum said.
"I don't now, Julienne. Do you even know the artist? I haven't seen her. No wonder with all of those - punks around here," his voice got insulting.
"Mum, let's go to the other paintings. I know the artist. I don't like her very much," Emily glanced over to me and Mike.
"You know her sweetie? Why can't you invite her at least once over to dinner?" Julienne's eyes filled with a bit of hope.
"Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Thomson. I'm glad you like my paintings," I said with the nicest smile I could bring up. The others shook their heads - this won't take a good ending.
"You?!" they both nearly screamed.
"Yes, I painted those pictures. It would be very nice, if you wouldn't invest your dirty money into my work," I said, going over to the others. "Oh, and stop talking insulting about punks. If you would remember how Emily was a few years ago..."
