"Turn to page 392 in your S.S textbooks and read the text. Write a two page summary about what you have read and turn it in for a Major Grade. You should be able to finish if you work diligently. Get busy.", Mrs. Hemingway demanded.
Everyone huffed in annoyance as they pulled out their papers. I began writing and really enjoyed myself. No really understood my love and passion for school. It has always made me content and happy. Everyone calls me a geeky nerd and whatnot, but it doesn't really bother me.
After almost an hour and half of full-out writing, i had finally finished my masterpiece. As I was walking up to Mrs. Hemingway, I felt no gravity beneath me, causing me to fall flat on my face. I groaned and picked up my papers before looking back at the person who tripped me. Of course, it was Staci, the preppy, snobby heap of trash of North Ridge High. I don't understand why guys find her hot, and why girls envy her. Her butt partly shows in the skirts she wears, she always wore shirts that showed too much cleavage, she wears so much make up, she looks like she is about to audition for a clown at a circus, and she always smacks on her gum like she has the inability to close her mouth.
"What are you looking at?", she spat, raising her eyebrow and blowing a bubble from her gum.
"A slut.", i impulsively declared. Her eyes widened in shock and everyone in the room mumbled under their breath. I got up and handed Mrs. Hemingway my papers. Just as she nodded and mouthed a "thank you", the school bell rung, making everyone evacuate the classroom like a herd of cattle. I walked out confidently and strutted to my locker. As i was putting in my combination to put my textbooks up, I heard light footsteps coming towards me. I turned around to see the only two people who understand me, my best friends Emily and Felicia.
"Hey guys, what's up?", i greeted opening my locker.
"We just had a question for you?", they claimed in sync.
"OK.", i gestured them to go on.
"Will you go to our schools' prom this year?", Emily asked, making my eyebrows raise. Before I had a chance to deny her offer, Felicia interrupted. "It's your first time attending and we really want you to be at it this year.", she said quickly. I sighed before looking at their pleading faces. They knew that i would say no without a doubt, but they also know that i'm easy to influence in situations like these. I really didn't want to go to prom; i really despise the idea of frilly dresses and makeup and everything. I don't want to be a Staci for sure but I guess I have nothing to lose.
"Fine, for you guys and you guys only.", I grumbled, making them jump up and down like a little 5 year old on Christmas morning. I rolled my eyes at them playfully and began to walk outside to leave but a hand grabbed my elbow, pulling me back.
"Just so you know, we have already purchased your dress, bought your ticket, and we have talked to your mom about coming over tomorrow to get you ready.", Emily said enthusiastically.
My eyes widened at their words and nodded slowly with a fake smile. They walked away and i began to walk to my car.
I can't believe that prom is tomorrow and I am actually going to it. This was gonna be fun...i hope.
