Vera was about to leave, she had experienced too much of this bullshit in the past to have thought differently. Then she made up her mind.
"Sorry love", said tolu..still gasping for breath from his run.
"I ran late due to traffic but I am here now", then he gave her that innocent smile she had always fallen for.
She looked at him with sad eyes and said, "I can't do this anymore. I can't cope with your money problems and excuses".
shocked and a little bit angry, he said "and thats because I came late just this once".
She looked at him now with anger in her eyes and at the brink of loosing her patience.
"Once!!, I cant believe this, the other six times you stood me up makes this just once , how pathetic of you, know what?,have a nice life and good luck getting a girl ,who can tolerate your broke ass this much", she took her pause from the restaurant table and stormed out of the restaurant.
Tolu sat down shame faced and upset, then it dawned on him he had just been dumped again!!!, he laughed hysterically and then knew what part to take....
