Love Struck

chapter 11

They had just gotten back from  their visit to mels parents. Melody's mum took liking to tolu very easily the dad too.

"Everything went better than I expected", tolu said to melody in the restaurant they stopped by for lunch, on their way back from the visit.

"You are lucky. That's all I can say. I still can't believe my mom didn't kill me after hearing I was pregnant", she fundled with her food.

"Oh you can't?..liar!" He said jokingly, "You played a fast one on her by putting in the marriage proposal before the pregnancy part", he was observing her food fondling now.

"Yeah", she laughed, "that was a good move for us both. I bet my dad would have had your head", she was still searching for her appetite.

"Why are you not eating?. You know you have to for the baby and your self", he took hold of her spoon gently and tried feeding her.

"I know love, its just that i don't feel like eating and you are so adorable. I can already see the family man in you", she said before taking a mouth full from the spoon he put at her mouth.

"You know what mel?. We are going to the beach tomorrow, I would cancel all work for tomorrow myself. Luckily for you, I am your boss. If I got nothing doing so do you", he gave her a sexy wink and continued to feed her, not minding the eyes looking at them.

The sun was on full blast the next day. It was unexpectedly very hot today.

Melody was laughing at him, "I was wondering why a nigerian man would want to go to the beach and relax under this very sun", she said jokingly.

He was sweating seriously. "I figured we needed tanning", he said jokingly.

"Anyways, I doubt you could have come up with a better idea", he said matter of factly, before lying beside her to  look at her still flat belly, with an amused expression on his face.

"Stop looking at my tommy", covering it with her arms she murmured.

"The doctor did say too much staring isn't good for the baby".

"And who might that terrible doctor be", he asked while taking her hands off her belly.

She was laughing seriously now, they both looked each other in the eye and knew at that very moment, they were meant to be...

"I can't believe I missed out on your proposal", claribel said to melody,  while looking at some wedding planner magazines, a few day's later.

Claribel had traveled to Greece for a one month vacation. She deliberately cut off from every contact. It was a vacation after all, and she despised being disturbed on one.

"Be rest assured I ain't missing the wedding. And I have got the most fabulous idea on where it should be located".

"Off course you won't, or else this time I would disown you", she sighed heavily and took a sip of her orange juice.

"I hope you would be able to fit in your wedding dress", claribel commented absent mindedly, she was already planning things in her head for the wedding.

"Off course I would. I am only three months in. That's why tolu and I chose to do it sooner"....

At the office everyone was suprised to actually hear the president was getting married. What shocked them the most was that he was getting married to melody.  A good amount of them presumed it was just a fling that would have ended sadly for her.

"You hit the jackpot, girl", said the secretary to melody.

Melody smiled at her and walked into her office quickly, before more people decided to come out and give comments.

"I see no reason, why people always make a fuss about other peoples businesses", she remarked irritatedly. She did realise the irritation was obviously from the pregnancy, but she welcomed it gladly in this case. Tolu opened the door of her office and walked in.

"How are my darlings doing today", he sat in front of her on the desk.

"We are doing fine my love. Last time I checked, you are still the boss and you can always summon me if need be", she said jokingly.

"Oh no my love...you seem to forget you would soon be an equal to me both here and at home", he took her hands in his and kissed them gently.

Giggling childishly " ahh!... I didn't forget. Just wanted you to say it. So as for when I am about to use my influence, it would all be your fault", then she winked at him.

"Nicely played.. by the ways I want you to come sleep over today", he gave her that innocent look and smile she could never say no too.

"Sure I would..nicely palyed too, using that look I can never refuse".

  She got on her feet and kissed him. "Wouldn't miss the opportunity to crash in your house for the world".

Work was over, tolu had ordered his driver to wait for them at the entrance of the office. He wanted to enjoy a nice sit in, on the ride home with his wife to be.

"What would you like to have for dinner mel?", he asked.

"Hmmmm...since you took the effort of sending the chef home early. I would love to see you suffer in the kitchen", she was laughing now.

"Well I got myself into this. ..order away my lady"...

Minutes later tolu had prepared for her,white rice with pork source and plantain. It was her favourite.

"Here you are my lady...told you I was efficient in the kitchen".

"Calm your pipes man, I haven't even tasted it yet". She took a bite, paused for about five seconds.

"Oh my goodness!!,  this is good", she exclaimed surprisingly.

"Now you realise I am not only good in bed", he joked. He ran into the kitchen to taste the food which he prepared.

"I am a natural I guess", he said happily to himself after tasting his so called work of art. He took his plate of food and joined melody in the dining. They had a wonderful meal together, he cleaned up after them. On his arrival back into the sitting room he saw that melody had zoned out.

"Wouldn't blame her, she lives for two now".

He carried her up with ease and took her to the master bedroom. He gently put her down on the king sized bed, covered her with the shits quietly, turned off the lights and got into bed beside her.Minutes later he was fast asleep.
