Tony was squirming on his seat. The post mission meeting was lasting way too long. Steve kept going over their fighting techniques, and even though Tony knew it was important, he really didn't have the patience at the moment.
After a mission that lasted for weeks, Tony hadn't had the time to relax. And worse, to take a bath.
Now, that might not seem like the end of the world for normal people, but Tony could hardly be described as normal. His skin was itching and his legs ached, he really couldn't last much longer. It even started to affect his breathing.
Tony caught green eyes from across the room and quickly looked away. He and Loki had been growing close. Really freaking close. Sleeping together and hanging out every day close. Still. Tony hadn't exactly shared his little ehm, problem, with the Jotunn yet.
It wasn't anything personal, Tony just didn't really know how to tell his kind of boyfriend that hey, I grow a fishtail when I soak in water.
As soon as Steve said they were dismissed, Tony got to his feet and rushed to the elevator, immediately going to his floor and forgetting to initiate lockdown. He barely made it to the bathroom before he collapsed on the floor, pain coursing through his legs.
The engineer dragged himself to the tub and groaned in relief when the sweet sweet water surrounded him. He got lost in the sensation, only tearing his clothes off and throwing it out of the tub with half consciousness. Tony curled up in his custom massive tub and let the water muffle his whimpers.
Keeping his head underwater helped against the massive headaches that usually plagued him during he changing, and it had been hell after Afghanistan. Tony never expected that water, his one set comfort in his life, could be changed into the biggest trigger for a panic attack he could have. It had taken him months before he was able to get his face wet without freaking out, never mind keeping it underwater.
Of course, once the change was complete, Tony could easily breath underwater. But there was always that moment of panic, where he felt like he couldn't breath, like he was drowning.
Tony hated those moments.
Eventually the pain disappeared and Tony let himself move a little. His red and golden tail moved smoothly through the water as the genius stretched out.
His now golden eyes flew open when he heard a fond chuckle.
Shit.
Fuck.
He hadn't locked down. He forgot. In his hurry to get to his bathroom and into the water he-
"Stark, calm down."
Loki.
For some reason, just knowing that, was enough to calm Tony a little. It was just his boyfriend. Ugh, partner? Nah, lover? Fuck no. Mm, his Loki. It was just his Loki.
Said god had reached into the water and was gently brushing through Tony's hair.
Tony looked up at the Frostgiant and sighed. After taking a few deep breaths in the nice warm water, the billionaire stuck his head above the water. "I can explain." He gasped while his tail moved lazily back and forth.
Loki huffed amused and leaned down for a kiss.
Tony relaxed as he returned the gesture, humming contently against those silver lips.
"You knew." The genius accuses his- his Loki, a small frown on his face as he leans on the edge of the tub.
The god of mischief smirked. "I was wondering how long it would take before you figured that out." He said amused, eyes sparkling.
