Chances

She told me to help her

I did

Made me keep her alive

That bitch

I guess it was a lie

Just a fib

Turns out she's fine

No scars to stitch

-

Now I have a bunch of lies to stack

On the ever growing mountain full of lilacs

While she sits there, feeling oh so laid back

Sits there, on her mother fucking kayak

Spreading like smoke from a smoke stack

Feeling like a demoniac

-

Reading her like she's a burnt map

Like burying a mummy meant to be unwrapped

I'm trying to stand on a hundred degree icecap

Releasing what's meant to be forever trapped

-

I guess she really was fine

Not murky, but crystal, just hiding her shine

No need to make her a shrine

If her life was like a feline, she'd still have nine

Her heart is as real as frankenstein

Yet I still can't help but call her mine

-

My friend to the end

My family, a godsend

Who I'll always defend

But never to make amends

-

I don't forgive

But she makes me wanna live

To others, she's abusive

Both our lies are explosive

-

We never lie to each other

We're the only people to trust

We don't pretend to be tougher

But we always win, it's a must

-

We're each others mothers

Providing never ending protection

Risk our lives for each other

No matter the situation

-

I'd die for her

She lives for me

She'd jump into an ocean if I died, a never ending sea

So I keep myself alive

To let her life be

-

Don't you know us?

Most people don't

We keep to ourselves

We won't betray, no we won't

As we line up books on bookshelves

Giving each other knowing glances

Seemingly normal

But filled with never ending chances

Author's note: Should I start making my poems shorter? They're usually 100-500 words each and I feel like poems are supposed to be short...
