Fire

Light from the sky

Seemingly invisible

Clearer than your future

Divided more than indivisible

-

Light from a fire

So fucking consuming

So dangerous, yet so alluring

So comforting, so deadly

-

The flames so tempting

The danger so unrelenting

Fire reflecting in my eyes, the opposite of what I'm resenting

-

As walk closer to the fire

The situation growing dire

As the flames grow higher

In front of me as all I desire

-

Death so close

As I hear people's screams

I want to be emerged in it

And never ever leave

-

But I gotta save the people

I don't always come first

Guess I'll have to give up the evil

Giving up my burning thirst

-

My thirst to taste the fire

As its embers fill up my lungs

Thats truly what I aspire

But I tell my friends to put down their guns

-

Since I don't give a fuck

I walk straight into the flames

But this time with an aim

I went in to get others out

-

As they all scream and shout

I stay calm as I walk

Not opening my mouth to talk

Not tripping, but stepping over the rocks

-

I toss em over my shoulder

My friends agreeing to help

They've finally found a purpose

They give others good health

-

Looking back, I regret not submerging myself

In the pool of never ending flames

Looking at the match lit in front of my eyes

Burning through my fingers, through my brain

-

I look at my reflection in the mirror

And realize I haven't changed

My soul still longs for the fire

I guess I've stayed the same
