"This is ridiculous! This can't be happening!" I couldn't figure out if Oliver had started crying or if it was just his sweat.

"I know! I can't believe it either! how can she not like the fries?" I was still distraught that somebody did not appreciate Taki's excellent culinary art.

"For once can you please stop fooling around! This is serious" he kept going on and on about how time traveling is impossible. We had practically ran the streets of Paris to get away from the institute. Oliver didn't even let me touch anything since he thought it will change the future. It wasn't until I dragged him into a small bar, almost invisible on the hilly streets of Paris.

"Haven't you ever heard of the Butterfly Effect, I bet just by sitting on this chair there are thousands of people dying in the future" Oliver was being a little melodramatic. Sitting in a chair would not kill thousands of people, right? "This is a dream, that's it that's all it is– a dream" he pinched himself as he hissed with pain, then he started rubbing the patch of skin that was supposed to be red but looked purple on his blue skin.

"God! you're such a mundane" I growled at him

"No I-I am a warlock"

"I meant that you think like one, a mundane will see a flying horse and will forget about it thinking that it's just their imagination, that it's just a dream" I continued "But we know better than that, we know about vampires, werewolves, faeries, warlocks, angels, demons–for god sakes we kill them for a living. And Clary, she could create new runes or remember the old ones"

"What are you saying? That I am the warlock equivalent to Clary?"

"I don't know? Maybe, but all I know is that you did something and now we are 10 years in the past"

For a good minute or two we sat there in deafening silence. Then something clicked in my mind, like turning on a switch or having a light bulb blink over your head.

"I have a solution!" I almost screamed

"What!" Olivers face brightened as he smiled really big

"Maybe, just maybe if you do the spell you did again we would get back to the future"

"What?" He smile disappeared

"You know like when someone gets hit in the head and forgets all their memories, you hit them in the head again so it would bring it back"

"Or more realistically they would get a concussion"

"But it's better than not hitting them with a bat at all"

"It's actually it's not cause you could seriously injure someone"

"What I mean is that it's better than not trying at all, what could we lose?"

"It wouldn't matter anyway, I don't know what I did wrong"

"I guess living here wouldn't be that bad, I could watch Gossip Girl live and not on Netflix, the Disney shows would still be great, I can also pretend to be a psychic and would tell people to relax cause the world won't end in 2012"

"As long as you don't do that last part because don't forget about the Butterfly Effect"

"Maybe I could finally meet all those great people they all tell me about: Raphael, Jordan, and a certain Scottish sex god–George Lovelace"
