Okay this song has absolutely nothing to do with anything, but then at the same time it does. Does that make sense? Lol.
Chris Brown
"That's real dope." I nodded looking at the affects they were putting together for my music video.
"Chris our models still aren't here yet," Lonnie stressed. I rolled my eyes.
"Try to keep calling them. This video is going to go on with or without them."
He nodded and began dialing numbers on his phone. Lately I have been working nonstop. With writing more music, music videos, and also photo shoots for Black Pyramid.
"Chris," EJ called out. "Which one?" He held up two denim jackets one with graffiti on it they other ripped. I pointed towards the graffiti one causing him to nod and walk back towards the dressing room.
I ran my hand down my face and sat down on one of the couches they had sitting in the middle of the studio. I pulled out my phone finding more emails of orders for Black Pyramid and more flyers on social media for up coming shows.
"Yo, Chris, you alright man?" Mijo asked, tapping my leg. I nodded. "You've been keeping yourself pretty busy lately."
I shrugged. "Have to keep the money rolling in some how." He nodded.
"Is that the real reason?" He asked, glaring at me. I raised my eyebrow.
"Yeah, why?"
"I'm just saying man. Since Zadie—" I cut him off right then and there. I don't care if they were cool with her, the boys know better then to bring up that name. That was damn near a month ago.
"Who?" I cut him off. "I don't want to hear none of that."
He smacked his lips. "Man look, I know what she did was low. Shit past low, it was iniquitous as hell, but you don't gotta front for my dawg. I'm your boy."
"I'm not frontin'. Yeah the shit was grimy but I dodged a bullet and I'm over it now. So should you," I mentioned. "Don't bring her up no more."
"Fine." He held his hands up in surrender. I scoffed. I don't know why niggas always think I'm still stuck on the past. That shit is over with and as long as I'm out of it, I don't want to hear about. It's bad enough she make me look stupid as hell for not noticing beforehand, why do I have to keep reliving that mistake?
"Hey baby," Olivia smiled coming from the back.
"Hey babe," I murmured as she sat on my lap.
"We're still on for dinner tonight?"
"Of course." I nodded.
"Great, because I persuaded Monica to double date with us."
I slightly rolled my eyes considering the fact she made plans without me. But that's Olivia, she's smart when it comes to publicity, and I definitely could use some good publicity. I nodded causing her to squeal and kiss my cheek. Once she up and left, I look over at Mijo who scoffed and shook his head.
"What?" I asked, slightly annoyed.
"Nothing, man. Have a nice day." With that he stood up and left out the video shoot.
Zahra Taylor
Sometimes I ask myself, when did I make my first mistake? Most would say the minute I lied and said I was 23 when asked.
