I sigh. It has been over 2 years since I saw Tobias. I remember waking up after seeing my mother. She had told me that I had died, but it wasn't my time. She sent me away from the land of the dead. She told me to leave a fake but believable body behind, then leave. I was able to come back, but not for at least 2 years. So for the past 6 months, I have been looking for Tobias. I am now 18. He's 20. I finally figured out where he would be. Abnegation. I march up his street, and am hit with memories of everything. Him, my family, my friends. I can't get away. I pick myself up from where I was kneeling. Lucky for me, no one noticed me.
"Okay. Time to see Tobias." I murmur, trying to calm myself. I walk onto his porch. I knock.
He opens the door, and I see bags under his eyes, frown lines, and tear streaks. "Zeke, why are you-" He stops himself when he gets a good look at who knocked.
"T-tris? Y-You're alive?"
I smile shakily. "Yeah, last I checked."
He collapses. "Great. Help! Help!" I call, and immediately two people come over. Zeke and Uriah.
"What happened? Why did he collapse? Do you know?" Uriah asks as he turns to Tobias.
"Uh, I knocked on the door, he saw me, and collapsed." I say.
He freezes. "I know that voice. Tris?"
"In the flesh."
He tackles me in a hug. "I thought you were dead, Tris!"
"I was, for about two minutes."
He stares at me.
"Uriah! Focus!" I say, pointing to Tobias.
He turns back to him. "He'll be fine, we'll just put him in his bed. He'll be awake in about an hour."
I nod, and stand back as the brothers drag Tobias into his room.
I sit next to Tobias on the bed, stroking his hair and thinking about how I will explain this to him. The explanation will take a while. I start to prepare myself.
