Burned Like Mary Winchester (Part 2)

        
            Cassius had to jog to catch up with the group of hunters. Bellamy let out a sigh of relief when he saw her. He wanted to turn around for her, but he also didn't want to show any sign of weakness to the 100 nor any of the grounders; the problem was that Cassius made him weak. She was the one thing Bellamy knew he couldn't live without. If he were to lose her he would go absolutely insane. "It's about time you made, Butterfly." Cassius huffed. She was still a bit shocked about what he had said about her.

         "Shut it, Bell. We all know you were anxiously waiting for me to show up." Cassius grabbed his hand and laced her fingers with his. "Lead the way, jackass." The group of boys accompanying them let out a few chuckles. Here were the two people they looked to as leaders bickering like two children. It was quite a scene. The hunters quieted as one spotted a wild boar. Bellamy let go of Cassius and reeled back his ax. "She's mine", he whispered. Just as he was about to throw his weapon everyone heard the sound of a twig snapping.

         Bellamy whirled around and launched his ax into a tree above a little girl's head. The rest of the boys ran after the boar. "Dude", Cassius breathed out. "He almost killed you. How old are you? You look twelve." The little huffed at Cassius. "And you don't?" She snapped. Cassius threw her head back in laughter. "Kid, when you look like this", she gestured to her obviously matured body, " no one will ever mistake you for a twelve year old." Bellamy then took this time to admire Cassius' body before returning his gaze to the little girl. "What's your name, kid?"

          The girl suddenly turned shy and looked to the ground. "Charlotte", she answered. Atom appeared behind them. "It's too dangerous out her for a little girl." Charlotte's harsh glare was back. "I'm not little." Cassius had grown a small liking for the little girl, but still felt like something was off about her. She spoke up before Bellamy could. "Well, kid, feel free to tag along, but you don't get a weapon. We don't want to risk you doing something stupid and damaging your soft baby skin." Charlotte rolled her eyes and followed behind the three without saying another word.

          "What the hell is that?" Atom had pointed out a yellow mist creeping towards the group. He reached his hand into it and immediately pulled it back out in pain. "Run", Bellamy shouted. The three of them took off in the other direction. Bellamy had made sure to keep Charlotte ahead of him and Cassius within reach. Atom was falling, literally, behind. "Bellamy", he called out. Cassius stopped to help him, but was nearly engulfed in the poison fog. She screamed and Bellamy instantly turned back around to help her. He pulled her into his arms and began to run.

            Cassius held on to Bellamy while looking back at the fog. "Bellamy! What about Atom?" Bellamy looked down to her and huffed. "It's too late to go back for him. Let's just hope he makes it out okay. Charlotte! Keep running! There should be caves right ahead. We could hide in there!" Cassius held on tighter and continued to stare at the quickly approaching fog. She allowed a single tear to slip out of her eye. There was something telling her that Atom wouldn't make it. Bellamy ran her into a cave and set her down before checking in Charlotte.

       "Is everyone okay?" He asked. Cassius only nodded. She wanted to make a snarky remark about Atom obviously not being okay, but she decided against it. Charlotte let out a small squeak in response and went to lay down on a large ledge Cassi hadn't noticed before. Bellamy sat on the floor next to Cassius. Sighing, he grabbed her hand and pulled her closer to him. "Cass." He drew in a deep breath. "I'm sorry that I don't go back for Atom. I know that that's gonna come back to bite me in the ass one day. Very soon, actually."

       He turned to face her. Cassius stared at him with wide eyes. She had no clue in where he was going with this conversation. "If I had the opportunity to go back, I still would have chosen you over him. I guess that's pretty selfish of me, but it's true. If you had gotten caught in that fog like Atom did then I'm absolutely sure that I would have thrown myself in along with you." Cassius pushed Bellamy away and sat up straight. "Bellamy, stop", she gasped. "What the hell are you trying to tell me? Are you that stupid?"

         Bellamy sat got up as Cassius stood from the ground. "Cassi, listen." Bellamy tried to explain to her what he was trying to say, but she interrupted him. "Bellamy you can't just say things like that and expect not to feel anything. You literally just told me that you my life over others including your own! Do you have any idea how crazy that sounds?" Cassius was pacing back and forth and moving her arms around vigorously. "Like seriously, Bell, you know how I am with feelings! I suck at them! Majorly!" Cassius took in a large breath of air.

       "Every time I try to express anything other than anger my words get jumbled up and everything gets confusing and I just end up hurting the people I care about! I can't hurt you, Bellamy. Not again." Cassius was breathing heavily by the end of her rant. Bellamy studied her panting figure for a few seconds. "Okay", he whispered stepping closer to her. "Then I'll make this simple for you. You know exactly how I feel about you, Cassius, but you never mentioned how you felt about me. I want to know." Cassius gulped at how close there bodies were.

           Bellamy, as if mocking her, tilter his head with a barely noticable smirk on his face. "Do you like me, Cassius?" Cassius felt her throat tighten. "Yes", she whispered hoarsely. Bellamy felt his pants tighten. "Do you more than like me?" He asked her. Cassius let out a shaky breath. "Yes", she answered. Bellamy grabbed her hips and roughly pulled her against his body. "I have one more question. Do you love me?" Cassius felt her heartbeat skyrocket at the question. She thought for a moment before looking back into Bellamy's dark eyes that watched her intently. "Yes", she whispered.
