Emily's POV
The girls are all in the living room talking. Serv left a while ago to see his nieces but Alex stayed. I'm sitting at the kitchen table with a mug of hot chocolate in my hand. I brought my legs up to my chest and snuggled into myself.  I was watching some highlights of the u20 team to see their style of play. They're actually really good. I don't know why Coach French asked me to join them. I'm not half as good as them. I heard a knock on the door. I picked up my head and saw Jules standing there.

"Whatcha up to?"
"Nothing really. What about you?"
"Getting away from adult talk."

I chuckled at her and took another sip of the hot chocolate. She came over and sat next to me and looked at the screen.

"Studying?"
"Supposedly yes. I'm merely watching their style of play."
"God you're just as worse as Carls."
"Well the maybe one day I'll be the best player in the world then."
"And I'll be sitting on my couch crying my eyes out because I'll be such a proud aunt."

I smirked and turned my head and looked at her.

"You know you can tell me anything right?"
"I know. Thank you."
"Anytime. I better head back into them before one comes looking for me."
"Good luck."
"I'll need it."

She got up and walked out of the room and once again I was alone. I finished my hot chocolate and walked to the sink and washed my cup. I walked out of the kitchen and up to my room and changed into the warmest clothes and fluffy ugg boots. I grabbed the guitar at the end of the hall and walked back down the stairs and into the kitchen. I quietly opened the back door and slipped out. The best part about living next to the ocean at winter is that no one is ever there. So, peace and quiet. I hopped the fence at the end of the garden and walked the sand for a minute of two before sitting down and looking out at the water. I picked at the strings while changing chords.

"You have a tendency to leaving without saying a word, don't you?"
"You could say that."

I turned my head and saw Hope sitting next to me. I set the guitar on the other side of me and brought my legs up to me chest and looked out at the water.

"Alex told us what's happening."

Damn it, Alex!

"Oh."
"Oh? Em you should've told us sooner."
"I wanted to, I really did but. I don't know what held me back. There's so many voices running around and around and around in my head and I don't know which one to listen to."

I stood up and brushed the and off of me and began walking to walk.

"Where are you going now?"
"On a walk. Don't wait up."

I didn't even bother looking around as I continued walking. I walked until my calves burned. When I did stop I saw that I was just a bit from the house and that the sun was long down. The only think lighting the area was the moon. I walked up to the back door and quietly slipped inside. I took off my shoes and put them into the mud room along with my jacket and woolly jumper. I walked back into the kitchen and turned on the side lights and sat at the table. I looked at the clock and saw it was nearly 2 in the morning.

I sat for another few moments before deciding to go to bed but then remembered that someone might be using it. I'll check when I go up to grab my charger. I made sure the doors were locked before turning off the lights and walking out. I locked the front door and was just about to walk upstairs but heard the television. I walked into the living room and saw mum sound asleep on the couch. I smiled and walked in further and knelt down next to her. I shook her slightly.
