Chapter 27;

No One's POV

"If you're reading this, then something terrible has happened to me. If you found this letter then you must have found the box. In this box a list of agreements and my will in case it's needed. Open the box and take out the white envelope, but first, make sure all of my loved ones are around."

Hope reached for the box and slowly opened it up. She grabbed the envelope and took it out and set the box on the table. Tobin took the letter and carried on speaking while Hope opened the envelope.

"In this envelope is my will. Unless Olivia is 18, then a family member has to read it and follow through with the instructions. Which is why I pick Lauren Holiday and Rebecca Sauerbrunn."

Lauren and Becky looked at each other in shock. They both stand up and walk over to Hope and take the will off of her. They walked out of the living room and into the kitchen and Tobin carries on reading the letter.

"As for the rest of y'all, this is for you. If I end up dying I want you to promise me something. I need you to look out for my daughter. She is my best friend and I can't have anything bad happen to her while I'm away. She needs a mother figure in her life and I trust all of you will be that for her.

I know each and everyone one of you have had your disagreements with me, even I've had disagreements with myself. I just wanted to say thank you, because without each and everyone one of you, I wouldn't be the woman I am. I know I'm incredible pain in the ass, so thank you for staying by my side despite that."

Lauren and Becky walked back to the room smiling. Everyone looked at them smiling.

"At this stage the two will have returned, and knowing my stupidity, they're probably smiling. So before they say anything I want to tell you something. In this box there are little items, well more memories, and each one of them has a name on them and a letter at the bottom of the box. But I highly suggest you wait until I do die, if I didn't already,  before opening them.

I love you guys so much. If I do end up losing then I want you all to know that without you I wouldn't be living the high life. I'll be watching you form wherever I may be.

P.S. - Kristie, go get your your girl. Now you're probably wondering how I know? It's obvious, especially when you talk about her. Screw the haters. Just go get your girl. I fully support you kid. Go make me proud."

Everyone chuckled and wiped their eyes. Everyone looked at Kristie and she was already texting someone on her phone. Olivia stood up and everyone moved their attention to her. She walked over to Lauren.

"May I?"

Lauren handed her the paper and read over it, deep in thought. She handed Lauren back the will and ran out of the room. Everyone stood up but Lauren put her hand up.

"She'll be back. I know she will."

Like she predicted, Liv came back minutes later with an little pink box. She walked over to Lauren and stood by her.

"From the will, if Em doesn't wake up, Liv will be under the custody of Julie Ertz, only if she accepts. If not then by all means Ali and Ashlyn have custody of her. So JJ?"

Everyone looked at Julie as she was in shock. Liv walked over and stood in front of her and handed her the box.

"W-what's this?"
"Mommy always tells me that if something bad was to ever happen to her to give this to my new mommy. I don't know what's in it. It's for you now."

Julie looked between everyone and then down at the box. She removed the top and looked inside to see an envelope with her name on it.

Julie's POV
I slowly took out the envelope and set the box on the ground next to me. Liv sat on my lap and I opened the letter.

"Dear Julie,

I know this comes as shock to you and everyone, even to myself but here's the thing. I've seen the way you care for all the kids on the team, including Liv, and it is one of the reason why I'm choosing you. You're incredibly trustworthy and reliable and I think you're the best option there is to be Liv's new mom.

You're probably wondering didn't I choose Becky and Carli or Ashlyn and Ali or Hope and Kelley as my first choice? Well, Jules, I believe that you will get on better with her. You're already the big sister she never had and I'm eternally grateful for you.

All of this is in the safety and protection of my daughter and I believe that you can give her that. I believe that you can provide my daughter with a safe and happy life.

It's completely up to you, and of course Zach, if you choose to go through with this request. I fully respect your decision if you decline. I wish you the very best Jules. I know you'll make the right decision. Just take care of my daughter no matter what you decide.

I love you.
Em."

I folded the letter and let out a shaky breath. Liv put her hand on either side of my face and wiped my tears. I smiled and pulled her into a hug. I rubbed her back and she did the same and it made me smile. She let go first and walked over to Taylor, Lauren and Noah and began to play.

"I'll be right back."

I stood up and walked out of the room. I walked into the kitchen and out to the backyard and pulled out my phone and pressed on Zach's number and pressed call. He answered on the third ring.

Zach: Hey babe, is everything alright?
Me: We read out Emily's will.
Zach: Things are that bad?
Me: Zach, she's want us to have custody over Liv if she does die.
Zach: Oh wow, really?
Me: Yeah. I don't know what to say.
Zach: I'll be on the next flight and we can discuss it in person. How does that sound?
Me: Thank you.
Zach: I'll see you in a few. I love you.
Me: I love you too.

I hung up and put my phone in my pocket. I walked over and sat on the steps and looked up at the sky. I heard creaks on the decking and turned my head to Chris and Alyssa sitting on either side of me.

"Is this some Red Star reunion or something?"
"Sort of. We just wanted to check up on you. How're you with all of this?"
"Zach's coming here. We're going to discuss it more in person and then decide."
"Jules, no matter what you decide, we will respect your decision like Em said. We only want what's best for you but also for Liv."
"Ohana means family, and family means no one gets left behind. That kid is family so she'll be happy and safe whatever your decision."
"Oh wise Alyssa Naeher is out tonight. She must mean a lot to you."
"Yeah she does."

Chris and I looked at each other and then at Alyssa as she looked at the sky. I put my hand on her knee and she looked down at it and then at me and I realised that her eyes were glistening.

"She's going to die isn't she? If they brought out her will then she's going to die?"
"I hope not. I really hope not."
