Kristie's POV
Yeah, remember that message Emily left for me four months? Guess who's only working up the courage now? That's right, this Boston girl. Damn I feel like my heart is about to explode.

We're here in Boston for a game against the Breakers. And to say I'm nervous is an understatement. My parents are coming to the game and Sammy is flying in tomorrow. We flew in today. We just arrived actually. I somehow managed to get Coach to agree to let me stay with my parents for the next two days instead of having to pay for another room when there is no need. He was reluctant at first but said he understood how my parents would feel when I do get there.

I grabbed my bags and said my goodbye to the girls and went to find my parents. Which wasn't too hard seeing as they have signs. I smiled and made my way over to them and hugged them both.

"I missed you guys."
"We missed you too Kris. It's been too long since we've all been together."

Dad took my bags and mom and I followed him, arm in arm. We made our way to the car and got in and began our drive home. It took twenty minutes but it felt good to finally be home again. I saw an unfamiliar car in the driveway.

"Did you guys get a new car?"
"Uh, yeah we did."

I looked at them disbelievingly but they shrugged it off and made their way inside. I walked in and closed the door behind me. I made my way through the hall and walked past the living room. I took another few steps and turned around and walked back there and saw Sammy standing there smiling.

"Hey Kratchet."
"Sammy."

I walked to her and hugged her. After a while she let go and we both sat on the sofa with our legs crossed. Sam takes out her phone and begins texting someone furiously.

"Did you tell her you loved her?"
"Tell who?"

I gulped as she looked up from her phone for a second with a smirk on her face. She went back to texting.

"Who do you think Kratch?"
"No. I didn't... I couldn't.... I can't."
"Funny."

I looked away from her and sighed out. I felt her look up from her phone. I turned my head and saw she had her jaw dropped.

"Wait, you're being serious. You never told her?"
"It's not like I can fly halfway across the country and arrive on her doorstep say, 'hey Meg, I just thought you should know that I've loved you since I was eighteen.' "
"You w-what?"

I froze. Sam looked at me sympathetically. I stood up and slowly turned to see Abby Dahlkemper and Megan Oyster. Abby looked shocked and kept looking between Megan and I but Megan was just staring at me. I looked back at Sam and she frowned. I coughed awkwardly to clear my throat.

"I'm, uh, I'm going to go."
"Kris-"
"Don't Sammy."

I stepped towards Abby and Megan and Abby moved out of the way, frowning sympathetically. I walked past them and ran up the stairs to my old room and closed the door behind me and flopped on the bed. I closed my eyes and next thing I know is my bed sinking a little beside me. I slowly opened one of my eyes to see her. She turned her head to look at me and sighed before looking back up at the ceiling.

"What are you doing in here Meg?"
"I can leave if that's easier."
"That's not what I meant. You know that."
"Do I Kris? Because I thought I knew you but I guess I don't."
