"This is AWESOME!!" Jason shouted as they reached the top of the mountain.
"How can he.... still shout after..... climbing this..... ridiculously tall..... mountain?" Raven asked Jia in between breaths.
They have been climbing the mountain for a few hours, with rest of course. But even though it had stairs, it was still tiring for a bunch of young untrained teens. Cole and Rachel weren't tired though, and so was Jason surprisingly.
Jason smiled widely at his friends who were resting on the steps. "Oh, come on! I'm the descendant of lightning! Duh!" He said.
Crystal raised an eyebrow. "What does that have to do with anything?" She asked. Jason just shrugged.
"Sometimes, elemental masters' personalities are based on their powers." Rachel explained. "Jason is like his father, energetic and not so easy to give in to exhaustion."
Cole nodded in agreement before turning to the large circular doors of the monastery. He pushed the doors open and walked in. The others followed.
"This is were you trained as a ninja, Dad?" Raven asked as she admired the peacefulness of the monastery.
"Sure. This is also the place where our team was first formed." Cole smiled as he recalled the memory and sighed. "There are so many memories here. How we first met each other, how we trained together and fought together..."
"How I met you." Rachel said with a smile at her husband, who smiled back.
"This is where you met?" Raven asked with a confused expression. "But you said you met each other at Ninjago City when Dad was walking around."
"He did met me there, but not because he was just walking around." Rachel said, a smile still on her face.
Cole nodded. "It's 'cause I was getting supplies for when we were rebuilding this place." He explained before turning to his daughter. "Your mother got cornered by some street thugs and I ran in to help. I never forgot the day I met her."
"Cute," Raven said blankly. "But why would you lie to me?"
"Meh. All of our parents lied to us." Jia said with a shrug as she placed a hand on the descendant of earth's shoulder. "You're not the only one."
"We didn't want you to know about our past lives, kids." Rachel said. "We were only protecting you from the Shadow Warriors so you won't have to live a life we onced lived."
"Riiiiight." Kyle said sarcastically as he leaned on one of the wooden columns. "If by 'protecting' you mean 'being followed by a bunch of shadow freaks and learning that you have powers and running away while your parents get kidnapped', then you did a great job."
"Kyle!" Ember scolded.
"What?!" Kyle exclaimed. "It's true!"
"Still, we must unserstand that there might be more to it than just not wanting us to know their past lives," Frost said as he sat down on the courtyard with Crystal and Jason.
"Indeed." Crystal agreed with a nod. "We must also not get upset with all that's happening. If we let our emotions get the better of us, we might not save our parents."
Jason nodded in agreement before turning to the two adults. "Which reminds me...." he said. "Why did you hide the truth from us?"
Rachel glanced worriedly at Cole, who gave her a slight nod. The brown haired woman nodded before turning to the descendants.
"I'm afraid that's a story for another time," she said. "Now, everybody inside. You kids could share the bedrooms. Dinner will be ready in less than an hour."
