And I'll Be Me

S I X T E E N

My phone went off.

"What about tomorrow? We could go for dinner."

My alarm went off.

I groaned and turned it off, crawling out of bed. I rubbed my face, trying to wake up.

I stood up and got dressed and then walked into the living room. My mom was sitting on the couch watching tv.

"Hey, good morning." She smiled at me.

"Good morning." I yawned and sat beside her.

My phone went off. It was Cisco.

"Get down here now." He sent.

"On my way." I replied with.

"I have to go, Mom." I said, standing up and walking out.

I heard her say goodbye as I left. To my surprise, Barry was waiting for me.

I averted my eyes away from him.

"Caitlin has been taken." He said to her.

"Caitlin?" My eyes widened. "Were is she?" I was starting to freak out.

"With Grodd." He said is a sad voice.

"Grodd wouldn't hurt her.. but we have to get her back." I was panicking already.

"Calm down, we'll find her." He said reassuringly.

I transformed into the fasted animal I knew, Cheetah.

Barry ran beside me, normally I'd enjoy it. But not this time. I wanted to get away, and find Caitlin.

I made a few rough turns, but Barry still found me. Still stayed on my tail.

I growled. Then I stopped.

"What are you doing?" He questioned.

I showed my teeth, still in Cheetah form. Then turned away and took off.

He didn't follow.

I reached S.T.A.R. Labs. Barry was already there, waiting.

"What was that?" He asked.

"I didn't want you to follow me." I said, walking up to Cisco. "Where is she?"

"I tracked the locations Grodd has been, and I can't find anything." He said. "But there's been reports of animal-like noises in the sewers. We'll find her there."

"I'm on it." I ran off. Cisco's worried voice disappeared in the distance.

I climbed into one of the openings, switching to the stealthiest animal I knew. Chameleon. Good camouflage.

I blended myself in with the wall, taking careful steps.

I could hear noise in the distance.

I see flashes of light, I knew it was probably Barry.

I took a detour so I wouldn't come head-on with Grodd. Hoping there was a path that came up behind him.

I ended up lost. I tried to turn back, but couldn't remember which tunnel I had taken. After a while of roaming around in filthy human waste, and the smell of dead rats, I found my way back. Everything had seemed to quiet down.

Then I heard Cisco's voice. "Joe!" He had screamed.

That was my cue. I ran fast, catching up. Barry was unconscious and Joe was gone. Cisco stood in shock.

"Cisco!" I shook him, and he looked at me. "Are you okay?"

"He has Joe." Cisco said.

"We'll get him back." I nodded. "But we have to get Barry out of here." 

Cisco helped me carry Barry out and into the van that Cisco had apparently drove here. Cisco drove him back to S.T.A.R. Labs while I decided to keep looking for Caitlin, and now Joe.
