Women, they're the foundation of all life. They're the reason we're all breathing.. but that's not to say that everyone has to bow down to us, but some women aren't treated with enough respect.
It's from the little things such as guys just being indirectly sexist to things that don't seem so important but really are demeaning to young women.
I'm talking about when some guys dismiss our periods as nothing and make us seem like grumpy monsters. Being asked "are U PMSing?" Or "It's not that bad.."
The pain of periods is something you won't understand until U actually experience them yourself. So honestly guys we're not being rude when we tell U to go away or that U don't get it cause the reality is that U don't.
But I'm not just here to complain on the behalf of women.. well I am but still...
Women have done some incredible things over the years, take Rosa Parks for instance. The first woman to stand up for black people on public transport. Florence Nightingale, who built her own hospital during the Crimean war. And Adele, one of the world's best known singers. Who has sang many amazing songs and soled millions of records.
Now this brings me to our closing topic. In the past women were only seen as housewives and people that should be in the kitchen all day, but times have changed and most women are treated differently.
Woman are given the chance to go out and get a job which is rightfully so because we are just as capable as a man and should be given the same opportunities. Another thing that is believed, is that years ago women were not allowed to vote or take part in political issues, but also thankfully this is no longer the case. I myself am very thankful for this as even though I'm only 16 I have strong political views and would like to be able to vote at some point also I believe that as I said women should always have equal rights to men. It is just as much a father's responsibility to look after the kids at home as it is a mothers. Nobody should be able to tell me that I can't go out and get a job just because I'm a woman. Society is too bent on strength and the media, there are only some places where you can get the Real picture. So many people today still believe that men are superior to women and that is just ridiculous. So if you know any women, and I know for a fact you do because they're all around us, I want you to make sure you make it known to them that you appreciate them and all the hard work that they do. Because women really don't receive enough credibility for things that they do and it's not fair. Yes there are some men that don't receive enough credibility for their work, but it's international women's day so do a good deed and make a woman feel loved, let them know you appreciate their hard work.
