This poem was written on July 23rd.
It was a spur of the moment creation but it still turned out exactly as I wanted.
I hope you enjoy.
I'm tired so tired but I can't show it. I have to be strong. Strong for everyone else. Strong for society. The weak only get ridicule and their spirits broken even more.
But is that fair? Why should you be called weak for having humane emotions? Why should you be judged for struggling more than the rest of us?
I'm cold, and then I'm hot. Then I'm scared. I feel alone. Even with all these people around me daily I still feel so. So. Alone.
I just want someone to listen. For someone to believe me and not say I'm lying or that I'm just trying to get attention. Is that too much to ask?
But I have to be strong. I have to keep quiet and go on with life as usual.
Never mind the sleepless nights or the vacant days. I have to be strong.
It's too loud, it's too quiet, somebody just make it all go away!
It's everywhere. At home, at school, on the streets.
I can't fight anymore. I want to but I can't. I'm too tired.
Why don't you just go to sleep you say?
Nightmares, nightmares all the time I might as well just give up sleeping.
About stupid shit, about scary shit, about traumatizing shit and about daily shit.
But you laugh and smile all the time, it can't be that bad.
Because society says I have to. Anything that doesn't send a positive message isn't allowed.
Well no that's not true. Not at all. So many people suffer from anxiety, depression, sleep disorders and so much more. All real and all debilitating in many ways.
Wake up and smell the coffee world, it's 2019.
