Society is harsh, we all know that. But there certain things that stand out.
The first thing, abortion. Whenever a woman gets an abortion they are instantly judged. By friends, by family, even by the media. Nobody thinks about why they did it. There are multiple reasons. The mother wasn't fit to have a baby, she could've been ill physically or mentally. It could've been that it was the result of a drunken mistake or a regrettable one night stand.
Or it could've been for the most heart wrenching reason ever that no one ever stops to consider. It could've been the result of rape. Yes that's a thing that happens in this generation all over the world. Why is it fair for a woman to carry and deliver a baby that was a result of a traumatic event that will stay with them till their dying days.
This is for the religious people. Where in any of the books did it say that women should have to suffer like that? Surely Eve wasn't put through anything of that nature. All the gods are supposed to love everyone no matter what. So there's no way they would condone any of it. People who have to abort their baby or babies for one reason or another should be met with understanding people. That's not to say everyone should go over the top and be completely fake. Just show them that it's okay, they shouldn't feel guilty.
Now to mental health, in particular depression.
Everyone that suffers from depression or at least the majority are shunned. They're made to feel as if it's their fault. Like it's a broken leg or a break up and they should just "get over it."
The quote is to emphasize What every closed minded or stupid person says. You heard me right, stupid is What I call those people. They should just get over it right? That's what they say to us isn't it?
Yep that's correct, the person who's writing this suffers from depression herself.
Did you not realize? Oh come on surely you're not that much of a dunder head.
Half of my poems are from personal experience. Or possibly over half.
Anyway we're digressing.
My point is that nobody with depression should ever be blamed. Why would anyone wish to consider suicide, to want to hurt themselves because they feel it's an escape? Nobody wants to feel unloved or any of the rest. If you know someone with depression you should be supporting then not adding to their misery.
My last issue is disabilities.
As soon as a sighted person comes across a disabled person they start acting differently. They treat them like children as if they can't do a single thing without assistance. Especially if it's a physical disability like being visually impaired or blind.
Just because you can't see or you can't see as much as the rest of the population does not mean you're incompetent. A majority of us are actually more independent and capable of doing most things than sighted people are. Another surprise? Get over it cause you'll most likely gonna find out more.
So, whoever told you that just because I don't have much sight means that I can't do whatever I like, to a certain extent of course. But just because someone might have down syndrome or something similar does not mean that they can't live a happy life.
One of the things that bugs me the most is when people try to do stuff for me or drag me around. I am capable of doing things myself and I'm definitely not a toddler.
We're just like everyone else.
OK, I've come to the end. The simple purpose of this is to make everybody aware. This is 2017 and we still have oblivious people and close minded idiots alike. I'm not being mean I'm just telling it as it is.
Anyway I hope you've enjoyed this.
