Orion.
'I want a search party ready in five! Do you understand me!' I yelled at one of my men. Nodding he rushed off. When the news came back saying almost all of Damian's men had been found dead except him and Cal I panicked. Grabbing my hair I struggled to calm down my racing heart. Not again... I let it happen again! Damian, Cal. I know they are still alive, I can feel it. But it isn't strong enough to find them. Damned! Punching the wall I could feel the skin on my knuckles breaking. The pain became my focus point. My breathing slowed, heartbeat became regular. Pulling back my hand I stood straight and walked out of the room. In the stone lined halls people would greet me but I kept walking not even seeing as i went. Without knocking I walked into the meeting room. All eyes were on me. 'We are preparing a rescue mission, please allow me to join.' Looking straight into the dark yellow eyes I kept my posture straight. Nobody in the room spoke. The dark eyes watched me for a while. A loud sigh left his lips. 'I doubt I will be able to stop you Orion. Bring them back; if possible find out as much information as you can regarding this inhuman crime.' You would not be able to tell if you didn't know him personally, but venom was laced in his words. Not that I could blame him. Dician our leader, similar to Damian in every way, the only difference being their age. 'Orion, you know what to do when you find the people responsible, don't you?'it was a silent plea, only for me to hear. Nodding I turned. Going straight towards the armory. Five of my men where present, pulling out guns and knives off the racks. Nodding I walked straight towards the knives, grabbing different sizes and placing them on my belt and some on my boots. As soon as we were all ready and armed we headed towards the cars. Three in each vehicle. As soon as the door opened we rode out into the brisk evening air. Sitting in the passenger seat of the first car I gave directions while scanning the area. Their last know location was an hour drive from the settlement. 'Orion, we are nearing the place the bodies were found. What are your orders.' Looking next to me I thought about it for a few seconds. 'Slow down, but keep driving North. Keep an eye open for any movement. And signs of a trap.'
Nodding he slowed down as instructed. 'Elliot, point out the exact place for me.' In the corner of my eye I saw him nod and with one hand ruffle his dirty blond hair. Sighing he pointed to our right, to a small hill. Evidence of the ambush was still present. 'stop here.' Both cars stopped and pulled up next to each other. 'Scout the area, keep close.' Both men nodded and got out of the car in sync with myself. The doors of the other car opened as well. 'Hard to think they got ambushed here, it's almost all flat land and clear sight of the area. What the hell attacked them?' Elliot was mostly talking to himself then to anyone in particular, he had a habit of doing so when he was nervous. 'Orion!, I found something!' one of my men called and I ran towards him. Crouched on the ground he gripped a branch. Lifting it a hatch opened. 'They came from underground.' he muttered. 'No, this is old. I don't feel any energy from it. It has not been used for a very long time.' Behind me Elliot cursed. Standing up I looked across the land. Noticing something off, I turned towards Elliot to conform it. 'What where the coordinates of that place they were supposed to check out.' Confused he took out a small note pad and his compass. 'Eh a mile North, but there is nothing there? Just more of this never ending nothing.' Nodding I walked a bit closer. 'Shoot a flair off.' I turned towards my men, one nodded and pulled out the flair gun and shot. The shot went up high, slowly starting to burn it hit something. Up in the air it dissolved. 'A fucking force field. That fucking explains why they were so easily ambushed, i can't even sense it. Waiting till they were close enough and then attacking, they didn't even know what hit them.' I growled, walking back towards the car. 'Orion!' groaning I turned my head. The look on Elliot's face made me turn completely. 'The force field.. it's breaking down.' I muttered following Elliot's gaze. Beside me Elliot gasped and took a few steps forward. Two figures came towards us, slowly and clearly struggling as they ran. The first thing I saw was the bright red hair, followed by Damian's large build. All my men were just like myself to shocked to move. I was the first to step forwards and run towards them. Calling my men to get the cars ready and a few to come help. 'Orion!!' Cal's voice came through. Sprinting the last part I finally caught up with them. Taking Damian by his shoulders as he tried to even out his breathing, both their clothes torn and cuts covering their skin. 'Damian, Cal what happened?' locking my eyes with Damian I pleaded for an answer. He adverted my gaze and shook his head. 'Later Orion, we will tell you everything.' Cal said softly. Nodding I helped them both towards the car. Elliot waited for my signal before driving away. Seated in the back of the car with both of them on either side of me, Damian was still struggling to breath. 'Sit back.' I told him as I softly pushed him so he was leaning against the car door. Slowly releasing some of my power i could tell he was in bad shape. Broken ribs, lacerations covering his torso and arms and a concussion. Focusing on the lacerations first I slowly released my energy and mixed it with his. Healing his body, it was a slow process but all I could manage in a speeding car. Next I focused on the broken ribs, and last the concussion being the most difficult. He sighed after I was done, finally being able to breath. Taking a deep breath to fight away the darkness in the corner of my eyes. Turning towards Cal I saw he was already deep asleep. Turning my energy towards him I could tell a lot of his natural fast healing had fixed the most damage. Letting my energy heal him and replenish his powers. When I pulled away I saw Elliot looking into the back view mirror towards me, eyebrows drawn together giving me a scowl. Rolling my eyes at him I huffed and let my head fall back. I was exhausted and feeling sick. I over did it, obviously. Feeling the car stop made me wake up, looking around I saw we were back at the settlement. Together with Elliot we helped both Damian and Cal to the infirmary so Kita could look them over properly. easier said then done as Damian was tall and muscular, it took two men to drag his ass, cal on the other hand was light and only needed a bit of support he got from Elliot. as soon as Kita saw them walk in she sighed in relief, ordering us to put them both down. their backs had not even found the mattress and she was already yelling at all of us. i don't know what she said or did i see her come over to me as i was leaning against the wall. but the sudden blue color snapped me out of my own thoughts and made me focus. 'i will only tel you once more, go rest. there will be an ass kicking if you don't!' stern she pushed me out of the door. To dazed still i just walked. Elliot was behind me sometimes pushing me in the right direction. I almost made it to my own door, collapsing against the wall. Elliot hauled me up and got me to bed. Even though i was tired i had trouble falling asleep. It wasn't till now i realized something had been weird about there energy, force field or not i would have been able to sense them long before we saw them. That meant either their energy had changed by force or from contact with something powerful. I would have to wait for an answer, they were both to low on energy as was I, the only thing to speed that up was sleep. It took me long but when it came it took me over completely.
