I really wanted to sleep.
I felt heavy.
Full.
I smiled.
That was delicious.
"I'm glad this place suited your taste"
He was beaming.
His smile hadn't faded once.
His eyes never looked away.The place he had taken me to was small.
Quiet despite it being full of people.
An amazing scent filled the space.
It was coming from the kitchen.We had been here for what felt like hours.
He had been so interested.
In knowing who I am.The things I thought about.
The things I dreamed about.He had said very little about himself.
~~~
Our faces were both lit up with smiles.
We stood in silence.
It was late.It was time to go home.
His voice broke the silence.
"Thank you for making me happy today."
I didn't say anything.
What could I?How had I made him happy?
I was the one who should have thanked him.
He had brightened not only my day.
But my existence as well.I hadn't felt so alive in months.
Ever since that rainy evening
I had stopped feeling happiness.
Until today.
