"It sounds like that, I know
but really I just wanted to make sure
you were safe.
I hid myself from the visibility of humans
and watched over you.
I sometimes flew over you when you
were coming back home from work
to make sure you would make it safely home.""You do realize that you sound
more and more insane by the minute, right?""Yes, I do, but Amaya you must believe me!"
"Why? Why should I? For all I know you could
be crazy or just playing some sort of
despicable trick on me."He stood there in silence.
I could see the desperation in his expression.
His whole body was on edge.
He seemed to truly believe
the things he was saying. But that didn't mean he wasn't crazy.
We both sat there in silence,
as if taking a breath from the heated
conversation from moments ago.But from his face I could tell
that he was determined to
make me believe him.He took another deep breath.
"Fine. You will not believe me otherwise
so I will have to show you."He quickly took off his suit jacket
and shirt and threw them on the floor. He turned his back toward me,
once again showing me his wounds. He reached one of his arms
behind his back
and ran his fingers over one of the woulds. To my surprize, he stayed perfectly calm,
the touch not affecting him in any way."See, they don't hurt when I touch them.
Now you try.""Try what?"
"Touch them. This is the only proof
I can give you."I was startled.
I didn't want to harm him.But nothing had happened when he had
touched the wounds. But was something going to happen
when I did?My curiosity won over and I reached
my hand out and carefully
placed my fingers on one of
the wounds. No sooner than when our skin had connected,
I had received a reaction.One that I wasn't prepared for.
