Chapter 42: Late night #1

It was around nine when I
decided to call it a day.

Too exited with the thought
of seeing him tonight
I wasted no time with gathering
my things and running out the office.

I was close to my apartment building
when I decided to take out my phone
and call Shou to see where he was.

Once again, we found ourselves
facing each other on my
livingroom sofa.

He was sipping on the tea
I had made for us.

He looked lost in thought.

None-the-less it felt good having him here.

"Amaya."

"Yes?"

"Where were you this sunday?"

His melodic voice sounded casual
as if asking about the weather
but I knew what was going through
his mind right now.

"I was out. With Takao."

There was no point in hiding this.
It wasn't as if I had done something wrong.
And even if I had, it really wasn't Shou's place
to tell me off.

I wasn't quite sure what we were.

I knew he was important to me.

And I knew he cared about me.

But he had no reason
to tell me who I could meet with.
And without even
having a real reason to do so.

"That's nice. And what did you two do?"

He didn't seem upset.

But why?
