The man in front of me
fell to the ground,
obviously in pain.

It was just like before.

I couldn't see his face,
but I could tell
his whole body had tensed up.

He was breathing heavily,
as if trying to calm himself down.

Throughout all of this
he never made a sound.

But there was no need for one
to know it had been incredibly painful.

I stood there,
not really sure what to do.

After some time spent in silence,
apart from his slowing breaths,
he spoke.
His voice sounded hoarse.

"Do you have any kind of tea blend?"

He spoke slowly.
His normally calm sweet voice
was now filled with tension.

The question sounded so strange.

Was he really up for having a cup of tea
after everything that had just happened?

"I have a few bags of…"

"No, it has to be a blend!
No bleached bags."

"I think there is some."

I ran to the kitchen,
not very sure what was going on.

I searched through a few cabinets
and sure enough,
there was a small plastic bag
full of rose petals, orange peel
and other natural herbs.

I pulled the bag out
and ran back to the living room space
where Shou was still
in the same position on the ground
I had left him in.

"I got it, now what?"

"Brew it. Then leave it to cool off."

Silently, I did as he asked.
