Chapter 33: Thoughts Of Him

The streets were filled with people.

The hustle and bustle
of everybody going home
after a long day of work
was surrounding me.

Takao wasn't saying anything though.
As we were walking down the street
I could see with the corner
of my eye
he was wearing a smile.

He seemed happy.

Was it because I agreed to
go out this sunday?

It wasn't a big deal after all.

We were just going to meet at the park
near Mitsugi trainstation
to get some icecream
and probably talk some more about work.

That was the plan anyway.

"You live near here right?"

I had gotten lost in thought again.

It happened often these days.

Indeed, we were only a few streets away
from my apartment building.

"Yes, that's right. But you don't
need to walk me to the door.
And you live on the other side
of town right?"

"I don't mind."

He shrugged his shoulders and smiled.

He seemed very chipper.

Maybe he was just in a good mood
because of a noce day at work.

As I looked at him
I noticed for rhe first time.
Even though his eyes were dark
they sparkled
as if reflecting the night sky
with it's twinkly stars.

How interesting.

I could suddenly feel a vibration
coming from my pocket.

I took out my phone.

Ring.

Ring.

I checked the caller ID.

It was him.
