Chapter 1-

I woke up to the sound of my highly irritating alarm clock. I lazily rolled out of my soft bed and walked into the bathroom. I had a quick shower, scared that I was going to be late.

I walked back into my room and chose an outfit for my first day at Fillmore high school. I chose black leggings, a blue knitted jumper and my black converses. I decided against one of my many band tops, scared that I would get attacked for it not being one of the new 'pop sensations'.

I quickly brushed my hair and put it into a quick braid. I was nervous to say the least but I needed to do this.

“Rose! Come down for breakfast!” My mum shouted.

I grabbed my phone and school bag then headed downstairs into the kitchen. I looked at my mum who had a large smile spread across her face. She has short blonde hair and she is the typical mum, except she is always away in Tasmania for work.

We used to live in Melbourne, Victoria but last week mum and I moved here to Sydney. My mum has two jobs, one in Sydney which is her main job and one in Tasmania which she only goes to once a month for a week.

I don’t live with my dad as he left me when I was 3, I don’t mind though because I’m better off without him. I have no siblings and I have a cat named Milo. I do miss my very few friends from Melbourne but I needed a fresh start.

“Here’s your toast.” Mum said as she passed me a piece of Vegemite toast. I ate it quickly then walked to the bathroom to brush my teeth.

Once I finished I packed my lunch which was on the kitchen bench and hopped into the car where mum was.

She drove for about 5 minutes before we stopped at the front of Fillmore High School. It somewhat resembled a jail, it looked so isolated and it just gave a bad vibe.

“You’re gonna do great!” Mum said as she kissed my cheek and gave me a hug. “Love you!” She said as I hopped out of the car. “Love you too mum.” I mumbled as I closed the car door. Mum  drove off and then the nerves started to kick in.

If I knew what I was in for, I would turn my back and walk away. But everything happens for a reason.
