Chapter 24-
“I didn’t intend on saying that exactly, but that doesn’t mean that what I said wasn’t true.” I said as I grabbed his hand into my own.
Luke and I laid in a comfortable silence, behind some rose bushes, listening to the sound of nothing but our own breathing and the music in the background.
“Rose..” Luke started. “Yeah?” I asked as I laid on my side so I could look at him.
His blue eyes starred into mine, he looked lost, confused but comfortable.
“Would it be crazy if I kissed you right now?” He whispered, just barely audible. “Only as crazy as me saying yes.” I whispered back.
He looked confused at first but then he understood what I meant, he leant in and I kissed him back. It only lasted a few seconds but it was full of emotions and words we knew we couldn’t say.
“I’ve missed this.” Luke whispered as he squeezed my hand a little bit. “I never knew that we have ever done this.” I said with a giggle.
“Not that silly, I miss being happy. When I’m with you I feel like I could swim a thousand oceans, I could run a marathon. When I’m with you I feel like I can… Like I can smile again.” He said with a smile, a genuine smile.
I was about to say something until someone interrupted. “Wow what’s going on here?” Michael slurred. Our hands quickly released from each other. “Nothing.” Luke snapped and walked away. “Nothing’s happening because she has a boyfriend.” Luke yelled and walked away.
“What’s up his ass?” Michael asked as he took a sip from him beer. I just shrugged; Luke’s mood swings were really weird and random.
I didn’t know whether to go look for Luke or to just go home. He didn’t want my company that was for sure. But I couldn’t help but feel as if he needed me.
