Chapter 36-
It has been a month since Luke has tried to commit suicide; he has been coping pretty well.
I guess that he realised that he has a lot to live for; yeah he still has his bad days. But overall he has been alright.
“Hi guys.” Calum said as he sat down on the hill next to me and Luke.
We sat there awkwardly and gave him a smile; I can’t remember the last time we talked to Calum, or the others.
We weren’t fighting, it was just that we all kind of separated.
“Look, guys I’m sorry for not being a good friend.” Calum said.
“It’s alright.” I nodded, because it really was. Calum was one of those people that you couldn’t stay angry at for long because he was just too nice.
“Luke can I talk to you?” Calum asked as he looked at Luke. Luke just nodded for him to go on, not caring that I was there.
“I found these at my house when I cleaned up the other day. From when we all used to actually practice. They look like song lyrics?” Calum questioned as he brought out a big pile of papers from his bag; it looked like there was about 50 pieces of paper there.
Luke snatched them off Calum. “You didn’t read any did you?” Luke asked as he glared at Calum.
“Well, I read a few… But it was only to see what they were, I wasn’t sure if they were my mums or Mali’s then on one it mentioned Rose and I figu-“He started but Luke stopped him.
“Okay, thanks.” Luke said.
“One of them was a bit sad I think it was called ‘Don’t remember me’ or something? I’m not sure.. Are you alright mate? They were some deep lyrics.” Calum said as he looked at Luke with so much concern.
“Oh, that was just some song I found on the internet.” Luke faked a smile.
I have started to notice when Luke was genuinely happy or not, when he was faking it his dimples wouldn’t be as prominent, his eyes wouldn’t light up the perfect shade of blue that you only find in the ocean, the crinkles by his eyes were nowhere to be found and his lips went inwards; only showing his lip ring that he recently got.
“Well, it’s good that it’s not yours. The lyrics were pretty sad and I wouldn’t want you feeling like that. If you ever did you would tell me, right?” Calum asked with an eyebrow raised.
“Yeah, you’re my best mate.” Luke said with yet another fake smile, but somewhere in his light blue eyes I noticed that he looked happy, maybe at the fact that he knew that there was another person that cared for him, that needed him. That he wasn’t as alone as he thought.
“Well, I have to go now; I think I have media with you guys later on?” Calum questioned as he picked up his black bag and slung it over his shoulder.
