Chapter 39-

“What are you doing here?” I asked, a tad ruder than I intended. I was angry that someone was interrupting Luke and I but the fact that it was Ashton made me a lot more annoyed.

“I’m sorry was I interrupting something?” He laughed as he pointed to my messed up hair.

“Actually you did now can you please leave I don’t want to talk to you.” I said as I tried to shut the door.

“Wait, I want to talk to you.” He said as he put his foot between the door, stopping it from closing.

“What is there to talk about? It was pretty clear that you wanted nothing to do with me when you were fucking your best friend’s girlfriend.” I said as I crossed my arms across my chest, something that I do when I get annoyed or ready to have an argument with someone.

“Just please let me inside so we can sort things out.” He pleaded.

“Fine.” I muttered through gritted teeth, letting him through the door.

“What the fuck is he doing here?” Luke yelled, pointing at Ashton.

“I came to sort things out with Rose.” Ashton replied as he sat down on my couch.

“You have five minutes to talk, if you fuck up you’re getting kicked out.” Luke ordered.

Ashton nodded. “I’m sorry Rose, I didn’t think that you actually liked me I just thought that we both wanted to just have some fun, I didn’t think that anything was serious.” He said as he looked at me.

“Wow you really are a dick aren’t you?” I laughed. “Ashton, you said that you loved me, you can’t just say that to someone and expect them not to feel like they had something with you. I never loved you back Ashton, no matter how many times you said it and I’m so glad that I didn’t because you’re an immature little prick.” I said as I let all of my frustration towards Ashton out.

“Look, I’m sorry. I thought you wanted the same thing.” He said.

“You have the most stupid excuses ever, at least tell the truth, I know that you never loved me, I know that you had no feelings towards me and that you just wanted to go out with me cause I was the new girl, I get it! I understood that a long time ago without you being here so please just get out of my life.” I yelled at him.

“So you’re in love with him?” Ashton scoffed as he looked over to Luke who was sitting on the armchair.

“Yeah I am, I always have been. And guess what? This really funny thing happened when you and I were actually in a relationship.” I started as I was about to explode.

“What was it?” Ashton asked, his eyebrows furrowed.

“Well whilst you were hooking up with some girl, I was doing the same thing, with some amazing guy named Luke. Pretty funny hey?” I laughed.

 I didn’t care if Ashton knew; I wanted him to know that he didn’t hurt me because the truth is that in the end I was just going to end up leaving him anyway.

“Is this true?” Ashton asked his eyes flicking from me to Luke.

“Yeah it is and by the way if you were wondering Ash.. Luke is a better kisser than you.” I said with a grin, knowing that it would push his buttons.

“You’re such a slut Rose Edwards.” He said through gritted teeth as he started getting up to finally leave.

“Wow so I’m the slut now? Who was that girl that you kept calling ‘babe’?” I asked as his face dropped.

“Ashton how stupid did you think I was? Who the heck calls their little sister and mum ‘babe’?” I laughed at how stupid he was.

“If you knew then why did you stay with me?” He asked.

“To be honest I want to go back in time and tell Mr Barret, the music teacher that I didn’t want to be your partner in the music project and that I didn’t want anything to do with you.” I hissed. It wasn’t true though because without Ashton I never would’ve met Luke, Calum, Michael and Ella.

He looked hurt at first but then he just kept standing there with that same annoyed expression.

“Ashton you were a really nice guy. You would make me laugh, you have really cool music taste.. Or were you lying about that too?” I asked, remembering how Ashton and I used to talk about All Time Low practically every day.

“No I didn’t lie about the music, or anything else. That was the old me, the old me used to be a loser who wouldn’t get any girls.” He muttered, sitting back down.

“Well you got me didn’t you?” I asked.

“Yeah I guess..” He trailed.

“Well then you can get other girls just by being yourself, you used to be a really cool guy Ash, now.. I don’t even know who you are anymore.” I sighed.

“Yeah me too, we used to be mates in a band now it just seems like that you have turned into some massive dick.” Luke said which I found surprising since I thought that Luke wanted to rip Ashtons head off.

“I’m sorry guys, for everything. Really I am. Rose I did actually like you but I never loved you or anything. Luke I’m sorry for being a massive dick. Can we go back to normal, please?” Ashton pleaded.

“I’m not sure about normal but we can give it a shot, but you have to agree to one thing.” Luke said.

“Yeah sure, anything.” Ashton smiled, a real smile, the real Ashton.

“Don’t you dare make a move on my girlfriend or I will snap you in half.” Luke said with a grin… And that’s the real Luke.

“Sure.. By the way Rose were you serious that Luke is a better kisser than me because I don’t agree.” Ashton said.

I just rolled my eyes with a smile, glad that I had my friend back.
