Chapter 21

Chapter 21-

I sat on my bed scrolling through my phone. The morning sun was coming through the few cracks in the blinds. “Good morning babe.” Ashton said as he pulled me down so I was laying down with him. “Good morning to you too.” I said as his arm wrapped around my waist.

“You’re so beautiful in the morning.” He said as he left little kisses on the tip of my nose. “I look dead in the morning.” I said as I tried to cover my face in his chest so that he didn’t have to look at it anymore. “I’ve never seen a dead person as pretty as you.” He said as he lifted my face and leaned in to kiss me.

“I’ll be right back.” I said before he could kiss me. I ran towards my bathroom and quickly brushed my teeth, I didn’t want him to smell my morning breath, ew.

I walked back and saw Ashton on the phone. “I love you babe, bye.” He rushed into the phone, I don’t think he noticed I was there. “Who was that?” I asked, millions of situations flying through my head. “My Mum.” He said smiling. I sat back down with him.

“Oh okay.” I said as I forced a fake smile.

“We should go and get ready for the day.” I said as I tried to get back up again but Ashtons hand grabbed my wrist. “Not yet.” He whispered as he leant in to kiss me.

That’s when all of the memories from yesterday flashed through my mind. Going to the lookout with Luke, us getting into an argument, the kiss.  

“Nope, let’s get ready!” I said as I pretended that I didn’t realise what he was intending. I couldn’t tell Ashton about the kiss, it was an in the moment type of things. I never actually wanted to kiss Luke, that’s crazy. Ashton is the perfect boyfriend, I don’t want him to get upset about a little kiss that meant nothing to me or Luke.

Ashton left a few hours ago and I got bored so I asked Ella if she wanted to come over but she was going out for lunch with her mum. Everyone else was also busy; I’m not sure about Luke because I wasn’t sure on how we were going to act around each other. So I decided to go to the park and read.

I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket, it was Calum. “Hello?” I answered. “Rose can you please come to my house as soon as possible.” He said. “Why? What’s happening?” I asked as I shut my book and started walking to Calums.

“Don’t worry; just make sure you get here please.” He said as he hung up the phone.

I hurried to Calums house, which wasn’t that far away. I rang his door bell and waited for someone to open the door.

“You’re here!” He said as he closed the door behind him and came outside with me. “What’s wrong?” I asked. “Now I’m not sure what’s going on between you two but Luke got really drunk this morning, I heard him outside yelling your name. I took him inside before he got reported to the police and he still hasn’t slept. He’s still awake and he won’t calm down. He keeps saying that he fucked up and that he couldn’t keep his promise that he made to himself.” He said.

“Do you want me to talk to him?” I sighed, he’s lucky that Calum heard him or else he could’ve gotten himself in trouble or hurt. “Yeah if you could that would be great. He has sobered up a little bit but he’s still an emotional wreck.” Calum said, he looked exhausted to say the least. He was probably up all morning looking after Luke.

Calum lead me to the room that Luke was in, it looked like it was probably Calums room as there were lots of posters of bands such as Green Day, Blink 182, All Time low etc.

Luke was sprawled out across the bed humming a song to himself, his eyes were closed but you could tell he was awake. His hair was a mess and I could smell the alcohol as soon as I entered the room.

Calum left me and Luke to be alone. “Luke.” I whispered as I walked towards him. His eyes immediately opened up. For a moment he looked happy to see me, his red puffy eyes lit up at the sight of me. But then he looked angry, the memories from last night most likely rushing through his mind. “What are you doing here?” He asked annoyed. “I came here because we need to talk.” I said

“What’s there to talk about?” He asked as he played with his fingers. “You know exactly what there is to talk about.” I said. “Let’s forget it ever happened.” He said. As much as I wanted to forget about it there was still something that made me like the kiss, yes I regret it but at the same time I liked it. Maybe it was just because I missed Ashton. “Good idea.” I said as I looked down at my shoes, all of a sudden my black shoe laces seemed really fascinating.

“It was a mistake.” He said, like he was trying to convince himself it was a mistake. “It sure was.” I said.

 “Let’s get you home.” I said as I helped him off the bed. “I don’t want to go home.” He said, looking terrified with the thought of going home. “I meant like, come home with me… if you want that is.” I said. “Oh okay sure.” He said as he forced a smile. He had sobered up; I think he was back to normal.
