Demyx

Deciding to set your phone up while you washed the dishes with some music, you were humming along to the lyrics while attempting to make sure that the water wouldn't give you third degree burns.  Taking the green scrubby and putting more than enough soap into it, you put all the elbow grease that you could into scrubbing the pan.

You felt yourself jump slightly when the music suddenly changed into a loud ringing tone. Looking down at your bubble hidden hands, you quickly rinsed them off before attempting to answer the phone with wet hands.

"Hey, hello? Sorry gimme a minute." You scrambled trying to find the speaker button on the damned device to actually figure out who was calling you. It wasn't often that people decided to call you for anything. Typically you would be receiving text messages from people, maybe you were still feeling awkward with talking to everyone. Things were beginning to become weirder now.

There was music playing in the background, a little louder than what you were expecting. Listening to it closely for those few seconds it was a mixture of different genres that surprised you a tad bit. It all was beginning to become muddy though.

Then it was turned off. "[Name]? S-sorry um it's Demyx." You paused in washing the dishes feeling the warm water washing over your hands the soap swirling down the drain. A small spreading smile came across your face there was an odd giddy feeling bubbling up. "I hope it isn't weird that I'm calling you up! Tifa keeps a contact list of everyone who works.. ya know in case of emergencies.."

Turning the water off you found a towel while he was talking over the speaker. "It's fine Demyx, I wasn't expecting a phone call is all. Not a lot of people around here seem to call each other." From his side you could hear a deep chuckle and oddly enough you could envision the blond bobbing his head up and down in agreement. There was something about Demyx that felt old school.

"Really? I feel a whole lot better then." Cue an awkward pregnant pause. Giggling under your breath away from the phone, you picked it up to wander around the apartment while the blond found his words on the other end. "A-anyways, I was wondering if you were free today. I know that you don't remember a lot.. but.."

With Demyx's voice wandering off you grinned to yourself, he was definitely a shy one.

Or at least that's what you thought.

"Sure Demyx, I would like that."

"Would you really? I mean yeah! Where should I meet you?"

"How about outside of my apartment, I'll text you everything."

"Okay [Name], see you soon!"

It was only for a couple of seconds that you looked down at your phone with a smile on her face, that giddiness was pouring out of you at this rate. Such an emotion that felt foreign but just right. You couldn't understand it. But it made sense.

Twenty minutes later after texting Demyx and getting changed you found the young man standing outside of your apartment building. His eyes flickering back and forth at all of the people that were walking by. You remained quiet, watching him pay attention to the rest of the world.

You noticed how he was tense in the shoulders, the way that his jaw was clenched and the muscles in his neck tensing and relaxing. You wondered what he was thinking, why he was so worked up. Swallowing an imaginary lump you called out for Demyx after pushing the door open. "Demyx, I hope you didn't get lost."

Turning around the blond appeared to be surprised about something but that smile that he always had returned and the goofiness felt normal. "Nah, don't worry about me. I know the city pretty well."

Smiling you began to walk along side the mullet head to the right of the street. "Really now? Everything?"

Pretending to be deep in thought Demyx rubbed his chin as if he was in deep thought about something while his other hand cradled his elbow. "I mean I should ya know? I.. I did live here all my life."

Raising a brow you couldn't help but notice the stutter and pause for a split second. Despite the fact that you wanted to continue that conversation you decided to take it somewhere else. Something was telling you that it was best to leave it where it lies at the moment. "C'mon, then show me something that not a lot of people in this city would know about."

Demyx stopped walking for a minute the gears in his head actually began to tick round and round. Slowly a grin came across his face, for a split second you could suddenly feel yourself becoming a little nervous. "C'mon." With a simple word Demyx took your hand and guided you to the unknown.

You really couldn't fight against him at this rate, you were the one that old him to bring you somewhere that not a lot of people knew about. You basically signed your own sentence.

The world bled away as Demyx guided you close to the small suburbs of the city. Was it even considered that? The apartment buildings became less and less until there were these houses that appeared to be narrow and large all in the same go.

The two of you came to a stop in front of a older looking building. Forgotten and decaying. Demyx looked down at you with a smile on his face, his hand gave yours an encouraging squeeze.

Then he let go.

He walked in front of you toward a small side gate that had fallen of it's hinges. The grass had grown wild and tall to the point that you had fight against it as Demyx went through it ahead of you. The backyard wasn't any better, if anything it was worse. Glancing over his shoulder you could see a smirk instead of a smile.

"Having fun yet?"

Narrowing your eyes at him you huffed under your breath. "Just peachy, I'm not going to be full of ticks am I?" All that Demyx did was laugh before leading you into a building in the far back. The vines had taken over everything, crawling across the walls and over the glass windows, both inside and outside from where some of the pieces were missing.

Looking up you noticed what must have been a beautiful stain glass sky light. Only a small amount of glass remained in the frames. Everything was so warped that you couldn't even tell what it should have been at one point.

"I found this place a couple of years ago, three I think." Demyx's voice was odd, looking at his face you could see it pulled into a strange mix of emotions. "There's a lot of strange things going on, but I think I'll be okay." His smile, Gods his smile. You couldn't help but smile right back at him with no words to add.

A quick second later you glanced over to find a piano off to the side, it appeared old dark stained wood now looking cracked. Once pearly white keys now dusty and an off gray colour. Frowning you walked over and gently pressed down on a key.

"Do you know how to play?" Demyx called up from behind you, standing off to the side. He eyed the wall for a quick second before giving a chance and leaning against it.

Smiling a little bit there was something right there on the tip of your fingers, glancing up at him you nodded just a tad. "I think so.. maybe I'll play for you one day."

Demyx's smile grew in a calm smile, one serious. "I'll hold you to that Princess."
