Illusions of the past

Chapter 1

The Sun shone tremendously in the afternoon sky,and the sound of students' groans and complaints filled the classroom as they fanned themselves with notebooks and papers,trying to cool of but it was to no avail,more heat got trapped in the class every second."Ugh! I hate it when this happens!" Pam said,panting from the heat."It's like living in a desert." Susan complained as she rubs the surface of a bottle filled with ice water,taking off the cap and splashing the water onto her whole body (literally)."If this is how hot being on earth is,I can't even imagine how hot hell would be!" Tiara said,rapidly hitting her head on her table. "When is rain ever coming down?" Gwen asked wiping sweat off her eyes.

Groans and complaints kept on filling the room until the bell rang,sign along recess. All the students jumped off their seats and shouted as they ran out the classroom. Pam,Sam,Tiara,Gwen and Susan walked out the classroom and headed straight to the cafeteria. They munched on their food and another conversation started replacing the silence...."Why does it have to be so hot today?!" Pam said,nearly checking on her rice." Yeah! The weather news reporter said in was going to rainy today but-" Gwen was cutted off mid-sentence when a loud,ear-piercing clap of thunder envelopes the atmosphere and rain came falling down heavily from the grey clouds looming over the school. Luckily,for the five friends,they have a roof over their heads,shielding them from the rain. "Oh,c'mon! Seriously?!" Susan yelled at the top of her lungs,moving her arms in the air. "Huh.....what a coincident." Gwen said,looking upwards. Golden Oak Highschool had been having strange weather for the past two years and suspicion struck most of the students and teachers. Sometimes,the ground shook violently but,it only occurred to the school and a few houses outside the school grounds. Year by year,more teachers and students move out of the school which led to only 910 students and 4 teachers and left one building abandoned that used to be the school hall for already one year from the previous random impacts of countless storms and earthquakes.

After school(timeskip)....

The sky is decorated with a light orange and yellow colour that starched fat to the horizon as students began leaving the main building towards their dorm. The sound of the chatter and laughter of students brightens the surroundings despite the lowering sun. "So guys,wanna go out to the city again?" Feeqah asked her friends,breaking the silence."Yeah! How about we go to the cinema?" Sam said,putting his arm around Pam's shoulder......Love Birds. "But what movie?" Gwen asked,grinning at Pam and Sam. "Maybe a....horror story." Susan said,attempting to scare Pam with her low voice and creepy face expression. "No! Susan...you know I hate horror stories!" Pam said,hugging Sam. "Then....how about we go there?" Feeqah pointed towards an abandoned building that towers over the main building. Golden pillars now cracked and worned out,emerald coloured walls now fade,and vine grow uncontrollably around the building like a giant snake. The sight was horrible.

"NO! THA-" Pam was about to starlet until Susan snapped in anger and yelled at her "Pam! We know you are faint hearted but what else do you prefer us to do?! My Life is boring,home is boring,school is also boring. Its like living in prison! We know you're scared but.....can you go one day without squeling in fear?" Susan's words pierced through Pam's heart like a million daggers as she turns to Sam. "S-Sam? What do you think?" "*sigh* P-Pam....I hate to say this to you but,yes.....can you be a little fearless for....even though one day. I'm sorry to say this but,...I...nevermind." Sam looked deeply into Pam's eyes and made the effort to hold his her hand in his. But,S0she pulled it away before he even had the chance. "D-Dont touch me...." she turned and ran towards the dorms,crying. "Pam no wait!" Sam began to chase her,but,Gwen gave a signal to make Sam stop. "Give her space,Sam..." She said and the remaining friends stayed dead silent.
