and that now they are only a memory

till that person they used to be is not the person they were originally
and now you are just left with a thought of them
and with time you completely lose them till they were never yours to begin with

He told me to stay but I looked at him and turned away I couldn't bear to see his face I asked him "why would I stay?" he said because "I want you" when in reality it was because he needed me I was just something to get over the other parts of pain that were infecting him I said "what if I die today?" he said "I'd be sad" when in reality if he died today I'd die the next day
