Chapter 7

Annabeth's P.O.V.

I was running back to the base after I heard Percy yelling, is he in trouble? I should go see if he is alright. Maybe Clarrise got to him and electrocuted him with maimier. As I ran back I heard they were yelling in triumph. phew I thought they were in trouble. Then i came around the corner.

"Hey". Callie said watching Percy

"Does this happen a lot?" She asked

"Sadly yes." I replied, Once percy had calmed down he walked over to me and put his arm around my shoulder.

"Hey!" he said still excited

"Hay" I replied

After this evening's events he looked pretty beat.

Percy's P.O.V

"This feels nice." I say at the campfire after the game. "Yeah." a few campers mutter. I don't win very often against Clarisse, so I love to rub it in her face. Truthfully, without Callie we wouldn't have won, and Im not letting her forget that. Ever. Thats when everything got weird. I dont exactly remember how it started but ill take a guess. There was a green mist that swirled around the camp fire, then it formed a body. It was the Oracle from the attic. She came to life with a jerk, green mist coming out of her mouth. Than she pointed to The Apollo ,and said in her creepy raspy voice:

-The sun shall fall-

-And darkness shall rise-

-accompanied by the savior of all-

-The sea must earn its eyes-

-Two shall lead this quest-

-Child of dead and light-

-and those who over see-

-shall prevent a final fight-

Then it faded to mist, nothing was said for a while then Chiron spoke up.

"Well, a quest has been issued." he said

"Who's going, Percy and Annabeth again." somebody said

"No," Annabeth said "she said a child of dead and light, so that means a demigod from the Apollo cabin, and somebody from the Hades cabin." she finished glancing at Nico

"I'll go." Nico said as if he had a choice

"Well, guess I'm up." josh said beginning to stand

"Nice try josh, but I'm going." Callie piped up

"No way, your to young." he tried

"Seriously? That's your reason, were obviously going to the underworld, I know the entrances better than anyone here except Di Angelo." she replied

I had to think about it, she had been out there most of her life with Arin. Maybe she'd gone to the underworld, payed Hades a visit. Speaking of the devil's son after her comment he turned pure white ( like more than usual). Josh tried to argue but Callie always came up with a better reason, eventually he just gave up.

Callie and Nico walked to Chiron, Nico was the same age as Callie I beleive, but she looked more fit, more confident.

"Choose your colleages." Chiron said, they skimed the crowd Nico locked eyes with me then Callie said "Annabeth."
