Chapter 10

Callie's P.O.V

Percy seemed pretty nice. But I was afraid that he might tell Grover and Annabeth how I was teary-eyed. I didn't want to leave Arin like that but he still couldn't walk. I was just scared Chiron would kick him out. Let's not get into detail about how they dislike each other, pretty much Chiron was upset that Arin was taking me in like a little sister to him after Josh went on a quest. I think Chiron knows how dangerous Arin can be. I wouldn't say he's a bad influence but he's just about as good a fighter as Annabeth. Being a child of Ares He had sort of a bad reputation. But I got to know Clarisse better, so she wasn't my enemy. I never really got a chance to catch up with her back at camp. I feel bad about that now, but I guess its too late now.

"What about the long island beach?" I ask. Nico took a while to decide

"That's the closest option." He replies

"To the Beach I guess." Leo says,

I'd almost forgotten he was there, he was quiet when he was tired. It was then that I realized that it was getting dark outside, before I could answer Percy piped in.

"Lets make camp for the night."

"Alright." I reply "How about here" I say pointing to a soft clear spot in the forest.

After we set up camp and a fire it was probobly around midnight

"Who's going to take first watch?" Annabeth says

"How about the quest leaders?" Nico says

"I dont object." Leo says before dozing off in his bed roll

"Well, Good night you too." Annabeth says

"Night." I mutter

After Percy and Annabeth fall asleep its just me and Nico sitting in awkward silence.

"So......" I say

"So," He says "How did you survive this long, on your own." Nico says staring at me

I laugh a little surprised by his immediate question.

"I learned to survive with out depending on others." I say in a slight sigh

"How did you learn to shadow travel then, you know, with just Arin." He asks

"Do you always ask this many questions? What about how you manage being on both sides?" I say sassing a bit

"We all have our secrets, Nico." I say

"You just look like it was easy, like you knew what you were doing the whole time." He says locking eyes with me

"Well, I didnt I was lost the whole time, I barley made it, I had to make short trips to camp for suplies." I reply

"Was it hard?" He says

"It was at certain times." I say breaking our gaze

"Have you ever lost sombody?" He says causing me to look up back at him

"What?" I question

"Ever lost sombody really close to you." He says "Yeah" I mutter back to the ground

He puts a hand on my shoulder "Me too." he says, We lock eyes again he leans in as do I and then the second our lips are about to touch Leo grunts waking up, we immediately jerk backwards acting casual.

A/N: ooooooooooooh is there a moment between those two? find our later when I post. I know I post slow and short. but I like to put a lot of thought into my chapters so I don't know
