" What do you mean she's dead? She was alive and breathing when I saw her last night at the meeting. No, you need to find out what happened!" My father roared into the phone. What does he mean, she's dead. Who died?

I got into the shower and relished the feeling of the warm water splashing down onto my body. I could always think more clearly when taking a shower. It was just soothing in a way. I got out of the shower and heard voices downstairs. I heard Caroline's voice downstairs. I'm glad she's here because I needed to talk to her anyways.

I slipped out the door and walked to my closet and grabbed my floral dress and my favorite blue cardigan. I reached down and grabbed my brown leather boots and slipped them on. I walked over to my full length mirror and approved of the sight I saw. In words, I looked fashionable and pretty. A look I was going for in the first place. The last look I wanted to look like was slutty and trashy.

As I gripped the door handle I heard a scream. It was Caroline. I panicked. I ran down the stairs and into the living room to see my father above Caroline's dead body. She had a stake in her stomach and he had blood on his hands. I walked back and was stopped by the wall. I couldn't leave Caroline with my father. Why was there a stake in her stomach. Wait. Stakes were for vampires. I tried to puzzle it together. The meetings my father had been going to when there were murders that had claimed the people had been attacked by an animal, they were all lies. My life was a lie. I was living in a town full of vampires and it appeared that my dad was a vampire hunter. I put my hand over my mouth to cover my gasp. Caroline, my best friend since childhood was a vampire.

" Calm down, Clara. It's alright I won't hurt you, your my daughter."

I scowled and looked away. I couldn't look at him for the fear I would break down and cry.

"Why didn't you tell me? Did you think that waiting to tell me would've kept me safe. Newsflash, it didn't. You should've told me sooner, because if you had I would've been prepared and ready to protect myself from these vampires."

I couldn't believe he didn't tell me.

"I'm sorry I should've told you sooner. I thought I was doing the right thing. Your my daughter and I love you. Your my little girl. I don't want you to know because your view on life would've changed. You wouldn't be so happy like before. Knowing things like this aren't gifts, its a curse. Vampires, witches, and werewolves are abominations. There children of the devil and they deserve to die."

""Why did you hurt Caroline?"

"She's a vampire, she deserves to die Nd when she wakes back up I'm going to kill her."

" No, you won't I won't let you."

" I'm doing this to protect you. I could never stand the fact that your best friend is a vampire."

There was a knock on the door and I froze. This couldn't be good.

" Bill, its Liz. I really need to talk to you".

I looked over to my dad and he nodded and told me to open the door. I opened the door.

"Liz, my dads not here right now."

" Oh ok, I'll come back later then."

There was a lid gasp that came from Caroline inside and Liz shoved me into the door.

Liz looked over at me and said,"Whats going on here?"

Right as she said that my father crept behind her and knocked her out.

"We don't need her telling other people don't we, sweetheart."
