I was content with our relationship. Everything had been going well but I had this nagging feeling sometimes.

I don't know why but I did. Was something bad going to happen? I had no idea.

Kol had been amazing. Last night he cooked me dinner and we watched the notebook and then we made slow passionate love together. It was like no time before. Every second was intense and made me feel so loved.

Then when I woke up he was gone and left me no note. It made me so angry. But I dropped it because after all there was just some things Kol couldn't give up. Habits of his I guess I could say.

He had stopped his drinking somewhat. Gosh the man could constantly drink bourbon all day. It reminded me of Damon who I hadn't seen in a while. I'd be sure to visit him soon.

I slid off the couch to pick up my phone.

"Hey Caroline!", I squealed into the phone.

Ouch I must have hurt her hearing because she sighed very loudly.

"Hi Clara. Umm.. I need a big favor. Is there anyway you could watch over Elena for me. She and Damon got into a big fight and she's crying and eating ice cream. You know it's bad when she pulls out ice cream. Please Clara bear? It's just like the old times and you haven't seen Elena in forever," Caroline begged into the phone desperately.

"Caroline you didn't have to beg me that much. Elena is my friend too. I would've done it in a heartbeat. Of course I will," I replied into the phone seriously to Caroline.

"Thank you so so much. I owe you one bestie!" Caroline rambled fastly," Bye thank you so much."

"Ok bye," I said while hanging up.

Hmmm, Caroline was really happy today. That's good.

But Elena wasn't.

Elena and Damon. One who had a heart of gold and the other known for being a lady killer. Damon just happened to be a smartass and whom also popped off sometimes with his big mouth of his.

Knowing him, he probably said something offensive to Elena and it caused a fight. They were a good couple but Elena being with Damon certainly had made her more stubborn and edgier. I guess in a sense they brought out the good of each other.

I slipped my shoes on and grabbed my car keys. Off to Elena's I went.

Ten minutes later I pulled up in Elena's driveway and turned my car off. It was now already dark. I got out of my car and locked it up and then made my way to Elena's door.

I knocked on the door and then heard screaming.

Kol's screaming.

I jiggled the doorknob but it was locked. I wouldn't be able to get in. I ran to the back of the house and tried to get in. Elena left it unlocked.

I ran through into the kitchen. Jeremy was about to stab Kol until he saw me. His eyes grew wide. Elena had turned away from the sink and that's when Kol yelled "Go".

I ran forward and ran to Kol and that's when Elena yelled, "Now Jeremy!".

Jeremy went to stab Kol with the butchers knife but I had unfortunately landed in the way and it was now lodged into my side. Jeremy ripped the knife out of my back and stabbed Kol while Kol had been distracted.

Kol screamed and Elena squirted vervain on him which propelled his screams even louder. I laid on the floor watching the whole scene fold out. Losing blood all over the Gilbert's kitchen floor. I was getting tired.

They were going to kill Kol and I couldn't do anything about it. I tried to pull myself up but I couldn't. The pain was intense and it made me grit my teeth.

Jeremy then stabbed Kol with a white oak stake and sealed Kol's death. I screamed out in pain and agony.

Kol!

And then he was on fire trampling about the kitchen and then landed next to my body burnt to nothing but a crisp. Unrecognizable, a shell of the man he had been a minute ago.

I couldn't do a single thing except to continuously bleed out on the floor. And then I lost consciousness.
