Tainted Hearts

Chapter 13

I held the glass cup carefully as I sipped the indulgent wine.

It was red wine to be exact and tasted absolutely marvelous.

I set the glass down and glanced at Kol who was currently across from me. He had recently gotten a new haircut and made him look very different. Of course I could still tell it was him.

My ears perked when I heard the familiar song, Fancy.

I sang along to the song oblivious to Kol watching me sing every word.

Though, I did hear people clap and holler and saw people glance at me.

Though, I was freaking out on the outside. Like freaking out, freaking out.

Something about Kol assured me though. I couldn't place it was it his personality or his aura.

Once I finished singing people started clapping and hollered for me to go on stage. I started blushing and said no until Kol started hollering with them. Since Kol did that I didn't want to look like a coward.

So I dragged myself up to the stage and stepped in front of the mic as I was trying to figure out what song I wanted to sing.

"I'm going to sing Enjoy the Ride by Krewella."

Once I finished singing everyone started clapping really loud. They started cheering me on to sing another song but my throat hurt from belting out some of the notes in the song.

I made my way to Kol and I's booth and sat down. He smiled and laughed.

"Didn't know you could sing Red" he said in his alluringly hot British accent. I wanted to jump him so bad but I told myself that I was going to wait till marriage.

I would be going against my better judgement.

I wanted to wait until I found the one.

The one.

We ended up leaving ten minutes later and boarded into his sleek Porsche.

It was black like midnight and it made me shudder because it reminded me of Kol.

Just like Kol. Mysterious, charming, sexy, and dangerous looking.

Perfect match for a car, anyways. I laughed as I thought about that and received a comment from Kol.

"What are you laughing at Red?" He chuckled and I laughed.

His chuckle wasn't really funny but I laughed at his use of the new nickname Red.

Once he pulled into the driveway I unstrapped my seatbelt.

As I realized the tension of the moment the song, All of Me by John Legend came on.

"I had fun. All thanks to you. I really appreciate it Kol, for everything. Listening to me, talking to me, laughing with me and most of all being my friend. I don't have many and you know that. But anyways, I just wanted to thank you and I'll be going." I went to grab the handle of the door until Kol grabbed my wrist. He pulled me back into my seat.

"Don't I get a goodnight kiss?" He said while smirking.

I laughed and pretended to kiss him until I pecked his cheek. He groaned and said,"That's not fair. I was a perfect gentlemen tonight. Just for you, Red."

"Well I'm flattered that you were just a gentlemen for me tonight but a gentlemen must earn that kiss. Not beg for it like you" I laughed.

He grabbed my hand and kissed it.

"However must I earn that kiss, my lady?" He said.

"Be yourself" I said while slipping out of his car as I went up to my porch.

I waved to him as he pulled out.

I slipped inside and went up to my room.

I stepped into my room as I saw a dark silhouette on my bed. I flipped the switch on bit it didn't work.

"Miss me, love." the silhouette said.

I screamed as I ran down the stairs.

He followed after me and I tried to undo the lock on the front door.

I was too late though when he grabbed my body an threw me across the room like a ragdoll. I was going to die. There was no escaping this time.

I screamed for mercy. He ignored all of my pleas. He stalked up to me and crouched in front of my face.

"Consider this revenge!" he said, when he latched onto my neck.

I screamed as his fangs pierced my neck. He drank for a few seconds until the door was kicked down and Kol stepped into the room. The man laughed and ripped my heart out. I took one final breath and felt my head hit the ground hardly.
