Chapter 8

Jessica's PoV
Charlotte, Jasmine and I had arrived at my room now. I was on my bed, Charlotte was sat in front of me on the floor and Jasmine was sat on my bedside table. Charlotte and I had already promised not to do any 'cutesy things' as Jasmine puts it. We were lay on the bed talking about what has happened.
"I still can't believe it's been five years" I said

"I know, I thought James was just joking at first" Jasmine said

"What do you think Draxx has been up to since we were gone?" I thought aloud

"Probably being an asshole as always" Jasmine answered

I then looked at Charlotte and saw that she was deep into a large book titled 'the divines, ones and prophet of chaos: a scholar's handbook to the magical Unknown by Dyrochei Garnashen'. Really? A shorter book title wasn't possible? Also after what we've just been through, why would Charlotte what to know anything about the ones?
"What are you reading about?" I tried looking over her shoulder

"I'm trying to find out what Zane turned himself into back in Elizabeth's requiem, but there's nothing in here" she answered, still flipping pages

"What makes you think that book is the book with the answers?" Jasmine interrupted

She put the book down and turned to Jasmine "this just isn't any book, it's the book that Dyrochei Garnashen spent fifty years studying for, it contains everything that is known about the divines and the ones; from battle strategies to hobbies, favourite foods to descendants" she was cute when she got nerdy "if this book doesn't have a certain fact about them, then that fact isn't known by anyone"

"God, you're such a nerd" Jasmine responded

"I am not" Charlotte argued "right, Jessica?"

"No...you are a nerd" I put arms around her "but you're my nerd"

"Hey, no cutesy shit, remember?" Jasmine interrupted

I stuck my tongue out at her and pulled my arms back. I lay back on my bed and began to think about the past five years; what had Draxx been doing for the past five years? Was the war between the republic and the federation still ongoing? Was master orish still alive? What had Reaver been doing? Is this Megan that Jasmine told me about still searching for the arkkon pieces? Had anyone encountered Ragragnoc in that temple on Scalathorn?

Then I thought about what Elizabeth told me, ragragnoc told Draxx about the arkkon. Why would he tell Draxx about the arkkon if he wanted it for himself? Well, Charlotte did say that book of hers was filled with all known knowledge about the the divines and the ones, I'm going to assume that ragragnoc is the prophet of chaos as mentioned in the cover.
"Hey Charlotte" I got her attention "does that book have anything about ragragnoc in it?"

"Let me see" she began flicking through pages

"Why do you wanna learn about old, bold and scaly?" Jasmine asked

"Well..." I realised I hadn't told them yet "promise you won't freak out?"

They nodded and I continued "well in Elizabeth's requiem, before I met up with you guys, I might've...sorta...spoke with Elizabeth Starillian's ghost"

Just that second, Charlotte's head shot up and she looked at me, her face had pure surprise and disbelief on it. I knew she was a major geek when it came to the ones, in fact she told me once that all she did before she met me was study anything to do with the ones and anything else otherworldly, as well she told me how there had been no recorded documents about the arkkon, however she believes that whenever a book mentions an 'all powerful catalyst' that the book is in fact relating to the arkkon. But anyway, back to the matter at hand. She looked at me and after a few seconds she spoke.
"You spoke with...Elizabeth Starillian herself?" She asked slowly "how? what did she say? Shouldn't she be with her mother on the other side of the golden gate?"
