Chapter 18 ~ Coming to Terms

Lilly POV

I had just gotten a call from Marci telling me to meet her at the house but there was some business I needed to take care of first. I was at my desk when my assistant called me on the intercom.

"Your four o'clock appointment is here."

"Great send him in," I said removing my glasses and getting up.

"Lilly it has been a while. You look as beautiful as ever," he said giving me a kiss on the cheek.

"It has, and you look handsome and debonair as ever," I said giving him a smile.

"Have a seat, we have a lot to talk about," I said taking out the folder.

He took a seat and unbuttoned his suit coat. He had trimmed his dark brown hair and those crystal blue eyes stared back at me.

"As you are aware I have acquired majority of stock in your company, Orion Oil. You have been the CFO for years and have made so many improvements that I am absolutely impressed. The pipeline project is coming along and ahead of schedule thanks to you."

"Thank you, I appreciate your gracious comments."

"I know you have family here and I have decided to build an office here. I have realized that family is important and people are normally a lot happier when family is around."

"I agree," he said looking a little nervous. He crossed his leg and smiled.

"I have spoken to the board and it was unanimous that we want you, Paul as the new CEO of Orion Oil Company. I think you are the perfect selection. Headquarters will remain in Texas but, I want a branch here in Louisiana since we have majority of the oil wells in the Gulf."

"What about the pipeline?" He asked.

"Your counterpart Raymond Degeneres will take it over. He seems very confident and the Dubai contacts seem to like him. You have done very well over the year training him."

"He is definitely the right man for the job. I accept the offer. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity Lilly. I won't let you down."

"I know you won't Paul. Your work ethic is second to none. Plus it's time for you put some roots down. That niece and nephew of yours are growing by leaps and bounds and it's time for you to start your own family. Tara is almost as tall as me."

"You are right. It's time. I let one get away but I will be working on getting her back. Believe me it's been too long."

I shook my head in agreement. "Good maybe I will be attending a wedding soon."

"Believe me Lilly I will be working on it."

I smiled. Whoever the lucky lady was, I hoped them the best.

"Here are the terms we discussed briefly and all you have to do is sign. Have your attorney look at them and have them sent over to my legal department. Once we have everything your office will be on the eight floor here temporarily until the renovations are completed in the next six months. The new office will be downtown. More details will come."

He stood up. "Everything sounds great and I look forward to working with you," he said shaking my hand.

"I know I made the right choice Paul. I see big things happening in the future. Do you have to fly back out tonight?"

"Actually I do there are some things I need to wrap up in Dubai but I should be here by the end of next week."

"Sounds wonderful we will have to have dinner when you come back. I will see you then," I said walking around my desk.
