Jacob POV

"Why do you always have to stir up trouble?" My sister Heather said.

"He came on my territory. I didn't ask him to come," I said taking a deep breath. I had driven over to my sister's house hoping she could help me. I was still pissed off about the incident in my office a few days ago.

"I've never seen you with your nose so wide open before. You weren't even like this with Lacey, my brother is truly in love."

"Whatever! I need a way to win over her heart. I have played the good guy, I'm running out of ideas. I gave her the job thinking that working closely with me she would come around. She is officially starting in the morning for walk throughs and meetings..."

"She is married, have you forgotten? She has his children and although they may not be getting along, they will always have a bond."

"I wish they were mine. They need a stable male figure in their lives that can love and provide not only for them but their mother. Evan has no idea what he had or has."

"But she still loves him Jacob. If there is the slightest chance that they could work through this, you have to let them be. I love my husband with all my heart and I believe true love will find it's way to you. You have been wanting Cadence since you saw her at the university. I saw how your eyes twinkled when you saw her."

"She's the one Heather. I feel it deep down inside. There is no other woman I could ever love more than her."

"Playing Devil Advocate, if she and her husband get back together then what are you going to do? Waste your life away on a dream?"

"He has changed for the worst. He called her out her name when he was in my office. What husband that loves his wife would do that?"

"People say things in the heat of the moment and then they apologize."

"Not buying it. She has been through too much for him to treat her like that. For Godsakes she took a bullet and almost died because of his arrogant ways." I could feel my pressure rising. Every time I thought about her in that coma pained my heart.

"As much as you say you love her, you have to let her go."

"No, I can't and I won't. I need to be there for her."

"I see the trial as been pushed back to next week. There will be major press in this because of who he is."

"I know it's going to be hard for her to have to relive that night. When I found out what happened to her, everything in the inside of me broke. I had never cried and prayed so much in my life. That night I was willing to give my life for hers so she would be here for those babies."

"Wow Jacob!" she said in almost a whispered. She looked at me with those same blue eyes I have. She bent down in front of me and took my hands in hers.

"I love you Jacob and whatever I can do to help you let me know but you have to let her go."

"The night that I saw her lying in that coma I had a dream."

"What kind of dream?"

"About Emily," I said looking at Heather.

She shook her head. "Our sister?" she asked as I could see tears forming in her eyes.

"I prayed so hard, that she came to me. She told me that she would guide Cadence to come back but couldn't promise me if she would or not. I begged for Cadence to come back to me. I promised I would let her go if she did but I have to break that promise because I can't live without her in my life."
