The color of your skin is part of what makes you, YOU
Don't ever be ashamed of it because they don't have a clue
People will assume and judge you based on your brown skin
But don't listen to their judgments because they don't know who you truly are; within
This world will knock you down to your knees
Even when you are begging out; screaming out your cries of pleas
Double standards will break your heart
As you look at yourself in the mirror and wonder why you aren't so pretty or smart
People will push you aside
Watching you crumble to the ground
No they won't help you, but simply turn around
It won't be easy and society will surely put you to the test
But as long as you trust in God, he will surely take care of the rest
Your future may sound ominous with all that I have just said
But don't give up hope now, listen up instead!
Hold that Crown up upon your head
Don't let them tear you down
Be true instead
Let your curly hair flourish with its kinky naps and all
As you defy the odds without a stumble or fall
Be confident in the beautiful pigmented skin you're in
As the Sun radiates and glistens on your ever glowing melanin skin
Let your "Black Girl Magic" flourish from head to toe
As the educated girl continues to bloom and grow
Don't you ever look in the mirror and say that you're too dull
Because Black Queen, YOU are beautiful!
