Dinner
"What should we do?" She says to me.
"Hmm.." I sat in bed wondering as well.
"Should we get rid of the baby?"
"No! You know how badly I want a kid that looks like me." I sighed.
"What about her?" She looks at me for answers.
"I'll divorce her."
"But doesn't she own the restaurant you both operate?" Her worrisome eyes made me feel bad. I was in a tough situation.
"Hmm yeah I guess so."
She takes out her phone that had the rice ball charm hanging from it. I remembered I bought that for her during our trip to Spain. I also saw she wore the flower ring I had gotten her. Her pretty red fingernails complimented the fine jewelry I had showered her with. I love spoiling her, but I felt uneasy doing so. I was cheating on my wife.
"You know...one of my friends told me that her friend Min killed her own husband, and all his funds went to her."
I gasped. "What are you saying?!"
"I'm just letting you know." She looks through her phone after, and I was left with thoughts.
~~~
"Hmm." I watched my wife's back as she cooks. If I push her down some stairs one day eventually, and she dies...there will be no proof I did it. I guess that is the plan.
"What is the point of cooking? Just order take-out. We are on vacation." I rolled my eyes. I didn't like my wife much. I guess I fell out of love once I found my younger mistress. I wasn't loyal, and I felt bad, but I was happier with my mistress more.
"I just wanted to make you something tasty to celebrate our anniversary." Her voice soothingly gentle as she stirs the pot. "I got you a gift too."
I looked on the coffee table to find a small note, and a box. It was a red box with a white envelope resting on it. "You didn't have to..." I felt a slight guilt.
"No, I don't mind. I just wanted to do something nice for you." She spoke as I watched her back.
"Thanks." I opened the note to find the words:
"Thanks to you, I've found a new me...."
I opened the box, and found a finger with a ring on it. My eyes widened to see the finger to have red polish, and the same flower ring as my mistress.
I quickly stepped out onto the balcony, and dialed my mistress's number. It rung a couple times, and she finally picked up.
"What took you so long? I was worried. Did my wife do something to you?"
I heard water sizzling on the other line as well as sobbing.
"Are you okay?!" I whispered with a tone of panic.
"It's done. I made this dinner with something you like..."
I slowly turned around to see my wife holding the cellphone with the dangling rice ball charm.
