"Officer is down, roll an ambulance"

That's all Erin heared, when Ruzek scream. She saw how Jay hit the ground, but she was unable to move. Jay laid in a pool of his own blood, and Ruzek tried to put pressure on his wounds. She stuck there unable to make any movements, she was completely shooked. It felt like forever until she was able to breath again and she run over to Jay, she placed her hand on his and said

"Jay!! Babe can you hear me???"

She breath in and out nervously as she didn't got any answer and she shaked his hand a little

"Jay...."

She got interrupted from Brett and Gabby who finally arrived, and Erin got pulled away from Al. The young detective couldn't hear what the two paramedics talk about, but their gesture showed, that it wasn't positive at all.

"Erin are you coming??"

Voight ask her, when she didn't make any movements. She stared at the point where the ambulance left the street, but she nodded. She was unable to remember how she came to the hospital, but as soon as they arrived she run inside

"Where is he??"

She asked Will, with a small hope that he was fine

"Erin, he has multiple bullets in his chest. He flatlined away three times in the ambulance, right now he is in surgery"

This was to much for the young detective and she rushed away into the bathroom, only Burgess followed her

"Erin?"

She shouted out, and saw her throwing up. Kim held her hair, while she throwed up, it broke Kim's heart to see her friend like this. She helped her up and Erin washed her face

"Did you finally told him about.. The baby??"

She asked her with a raised eyebrow and sighed when Erin shaked her head negatively.

"You can tell him later, anyway!"

Hopefully this was the truth, the two walked back to the waiting spot and sat down. Everyone was coming, the fire department, all of the Intelligence and of course their friends at Med. All of them tried to comfort her, and cheer her up. But all she wanted to hear was, that he is fine.

"Family of Jay Halstead?!"

Rhodes said, surely knew who belonged to him, but he didn't knew how to say the news. He took of his surgical hood and dropped his gaze for a secound

"No...."

Erin wisphered nearly as quiet as possible, but she felt their gaze resting on her before Rhodes said

"We repaired his lungs, but we couldn't reapir his heart. He had multiple bullets in his heart... I'm so sorry"

Erin shaked her head negatively, she didn't want, no she couldn't believe the words which left Rhodes mouth. Treas started to rush down her cheek

"NO, THATS NOT TRUE!!"

She nearly yelled and shaked, she didn't want this to be real. She hadn't even told him about their baby...

"I'm sorry. You all can see him one last time."

Rhodes said, before he left and patted Will's back, he wasn't good with emotions and this scene broke his heart.

"I want to see him.. I can't believe it without seeing him"

She said to Will, and he nodded. Completely silent they walked to the mortuary, she hoped deep down, that she was just dreaming, when she saw his cold, dead body. Within a minute, her world cracked apart.

"I love you.."

She wisphered when she walked towards him, she knew it was to late, but she wanted to tell him anyway

"I'm pregnant Jay!"

Everyone was gaping surprised and they sighed, nobody said a word when the nurse put the sheets over his face
