Unexpected request

When the alarm went off, a sighed escaped the brunette's lips. The night was by far not long enough, half of the time she had nightmares, and couldn't sleep....

Quietly she stood up and made her way into the bathroom, she didn't want to wake Mouse, who still slept on her couch.

Today was the day, of her first ultrasound, and she was nervously like never before. After her quick shower, she opened her closet, unsure what to wear.

All her jeans, are really tight, and her stomach wasn't that small anymore, so she decided to wear a leggings and one of Jay's shirts. First it was wide enough to hide her stomach, and secound, it was his shirt. Even if he couldn't be with her at the ultrasound today, in some way he would be.

Erin made her way into the kitchen and started to make breakfast, she couldn't imagine anything she wanted to eat, but it calmed her in some way to cook. 

"Goodmorning Erin"

Erin frightened when Mouse greeted her and she stepped backwards until she felt the counter pressing against her back. After she breath in and out twice, she answered a little stutter

"Hey... Could you sleep? At least a little bit?"

As soon as she claimed down, he placed his hand on her arm to excuse that he frightened her. She nodded, and he sat down before she took a sip from her mug

"Yes, I slept, thank you for letting me stay! I'm sorry, I didn't want to shock you!"

Mouse said and Erin smiled sadly to him, she knew that, and it was alright

"Feel welcome. I have an... an appointment!"

This wasn't really a lie, but neither the truth, but she didn't want to tell him that she has an ultrasound today. She was barely able to keep herself together, and this hospital visit would hurt again. This was something she wanted to do alone, but she never expected to hear this from Mouse

"Could you show me his grave? I want to say goodbye"

Nobody asked her anything like this since Jay died, maybe they thought it was inappropriate. It was hurtful, it felt like someone pushed a sharp knife in her chest

"Umm..."

Erin shaked her head, she couldn't do that, but neither she wanted to make him sad, or take the chance to say goodbye away from him

"You should ask Ruzek, or Voight. The Intelligence family, I'm not mad or anything, it's just.. By now I'm not strong enough for it right now"

This was truthful and completely honestly, but she could see in his eyes that he understood what she meant. The quietly ate their breakfast before Erin put on her jacket and left the apartment, she was on her way to the Med.

"Erin will arrive soon, could you all be professional, please?!"

Natalie asked her colleagues 20 minutes before Erin arrived, she would try everything to make it as easily as possible for the brunette detective
