"I'll have the Steak, medium well, please." I say to our waiter, who listens closely and writes what I say down. He grabs my menu as I hand it to him, and looks over at Alex, who is still deciding what she wants.
"And for you madam?" The man asks her politely, and she looks up at him and opens her mouth to speak.
"Can I have the rigatoni with marinara and meatballs with a side of garlic bread please?" Alex asks the man politely. The man nods and takes her menu away before walking to the kitchen to put our orders in. Alex turns and looks at me. "Thanks so much for taking me here."
"Anything for my baby girl." The words fall out of my mouth and she smiles as her cheeks turn bright red. She looks down and smiles, which makes me smile because it is so god damn cute. She looks back at me and looks confused.
"Why are you smiling? It's weird." The question hits me and confuses me.
"I'm smiling because I have the cutest girl in the entire fucking universe sitting across from me, obviously." I make a dumb face and exaggerate the word obviously. She laughs softly trying not to disturb the other customers. I smile at her and think of something to say. "This is nice isn't it?"
"Yeah, it's wonderful, and so pretty in here."
"Not as pretty as you, and that one you walked right into." She laughs again this time harder. She blushes again after I say that. Just then a man comes around with food on a tray and sets it down in front of us. "Well you know what they say, bon apetite."
