ALEX'S P.O.V.
"Alex." I felt someone shake my shoulder slightly. "Alex." My eyes lazily opened to Sodapop's face. I hummed in response. "Alex, c'mon."
I sat up in the seat of Darry's truck and looked out the window, my head pounding. I saw the Curtis house in front of us. "Soda-" I was about to tell him that he had to take me home or else Two-Bit would skin me, but I promptly leaned out of the window and threw up.
"You ever been hungover before?" He chuckled.
"Nope." I wiped my mouth, my eyes drooping.
He laughed quietly under his breath and got out of the car, walking over to my side. I hunched over in the seat, swallowing down the urge to throw up again. Soda opened my door and picked me up in his arms bridal style. He grunted as he picked me up, then slammed the car door with his foot. Making sure to avoid the mess on the ground. I wanted to say I was sorry but the words wouldn't come out.
I drifted in and out of consciousness, feeling sick every time I opened my eyes. I mumbled Soda's name as I felt him lay me down on the couch. He covered me with a light blanket and I fell back asleep.
********************
"What the hell?!"
My eyes shot open, the light seeping in through the windows causing me to wince in pain. I looked up with one eye open to see Two-Bit standing in the front doorway. "Where the hell have you been missy!" He sounded mad. "I wake up in the morning to my mom hysterical cause you were gone!" My ears rang from his yelling. "You gotta lot of explaining to do hunny."
I rubbed my eyes hurriedly and sat up. Two-Bit breathed heavily like he was running. "I-I-I-"
"She was with me."
I looked to my right and saw Soda sitting up from a sleeping position on the armchair. His hair was ruffled and messy. It fell in long, greaseless locks over his forehead covering on of his eyebrows. He wore a sweatshirt and pajama pants that I hadn't noticed last night. "What was she doin' with you last night?"
"Way to make a guy feel good." Soda mumbled, running his hand through his hair.
"Why weren't you in bed?" He turned to me.
I opened my mouth to respond, but couldn't really come up with anything good. "I got her." Soda intervened.
"Will you let the damn girl reply?!" Two-Bit yelled.
Soda clenched his jaw showing his sharp jaw line. "I couldn't sleep, uh—so I went on a walk. I saw Soda and we started talking. I crashed here for the night, didn't think you would mind."
