Advice from the King and Queen

We recently talked to Illéa's favorite couple, King William and Queen Sionnach! The King and Queen are fair and gracious, and were very kind to take time out of their busy schedules to talk to us. Running a country is no easy task, but everyone can agree that they do a magnificent job!

We first talked to Queen Sionnach, who is just as beautiful inside as she is outside. She had one main piece of advice for the selected: be yourself. She says to "remember who you are and don't change yourself for anyone, not even a prince. He'll love you for who you are, and even if he doesn't, you'll go home to be with people who've loved you all your life, and one day, you may find that special someone who will sweep you off your feet." I just love Queen Sionnach! She is so wise and an inspiration to all.

When talking to King William, he mentioned how in his selection, there were so many girls he cared for and felt close to, and wasn't sure how he would ever choose between them. He said that he eventually realized that although he loved many of the girls, there was only one girl he was in love with (Sionnach). He said that the other girls were good friends and he thought of them like siblings. King William says "don't get too caught up in the competition aspect of the selection. Yes, you are competing against other young men and women, but it's not a game, it's love. The princes and princesses may not be in love with you, but you can still make friends and have a good time while you are here." That is the King's advice: to have fun and make lifelong memories that you will cherish forever.

So there you have it, some advice from two people who went through the selection themselves, and from opposing sides! Remember to be yourself and have fun!

Popular Looks of the Selected: Casual Wear

Each year, the selected girls bring a new style to the Selection, one that has never been seen before. This year is no exception, as girls from around the country are getting dressed up in their favorite outfits. What makes this Selection even more unique is that there are male selected as well as females, and they certainly bring a whole new look to the Selection. Here are some of the most popular looks we've seen so far.

For casual wear, many of the girls are wearing cute dresses that are knee length and a solid color. They accessorize these dresses with a belt and long necklace.
